The Kickin Crab

We’ve visited this location several times, but this visit was a bit different as we brought along our newborn. Unfortunately, the place isn’t stroller-friendly, or perhaps the staff isn’t well-trained to accommodate guests with strollers. This made navigating the space a bit challenging. As for the food, it was a mix of highs and lows. We ordered the fries, which were amazing as always—crispy and flavorful, just how we like them. The clam chowder, however, was disappointing. I’d rate it a 4/10 and wouldn’t order it again. On the brighter side, the 3 lbs of shrimp we ordered were absolutely delicious, as usual. Kicking Crab’s shrimp never disappoints! While we’ll probably be back for the shrimp and fries, I hope they improve on accommodating families with strollers.

The calamari is a must-get—crispy with perfect seasoning. The shrimp combo, Kickin style at mild heat, was delicious. For those who can’t handle spice, mild is the way to go, with a spicier sauce on the side for anyone who prefers more heat. The garlic butter sauce was phenomenal and highly recommended. The combo also included potatoes, corn, and sausage, and I found that shrimp offers the best value compared to other proteins. Overall, I’d give the food a solid 4/5. Service: Service can be inconsistent. In previous visits, I’ve had to re-request items, which was frustrating, especially when it’s busy. However, this time the service was much improved. We received everything promptly and didn’t have to ask twice. I’d rate the service a 3/5—it really depends on when you visit. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is pretty standard for a seafood boil restaurant. Nothing remarkable, but it’s comfortable and casual, fitting for a laid-back meal.

I bought 4 lbs of fresh crawfish but they gave me all frozen. They think customers are stupid? Very underestimate customer. I’ve been eating here for years but no more. Never come back

Food was amazing as in every time I go there I’ve tried other seafood boil places and kickin is just that kickin the competition out the water just so flavorful every bite leaves you wanting more!!!!10/10

My family of four dined at this restaurant the day before Valentine’s Day with our daughters. The waitress didn’t greet us promptly, and we waited a while at our table, even though they weren’t busy. When our food arrived, I found a long, thick black hair wrapped around one of my shrimp. The waiter was standing at the table when I discovered it. He instructed me to put the hair back in the bag and took it away. We observed him to ensure they disposed of the bag properly. We noticed their interactions and observed that the young waitress with the wild long black messy hair, seemed to apologize to them, saying, “My bad.” They then proceeded to remake my crab boil bag, but no one came over to our table to acknowledge the incident or offer any apologies. Not a single drink refill was provided until we asked at the end. The service was truly appalling. We spent almost $200 at this establishment, only to be ignored most of the time and subjected to their blatant unpleasantness. I would strongly advise against recommending this place to anyone. The service has significantly deteriorated since my last visit.

If you're thinking about coming here, be warned: they will likely dismiss your concerns and treat you like you're overreacting if you find something as disgusting as a hair in your meal.
