If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican flavors with an island vibe, The Island Spot is the place. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality that makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere is vibrant, since we dined on Sunday after church, the gospel music was on point. The food was absolutely outstanding! We had the Curry Chicken with rice & peas and cabbage, Brown Stew Chicken with rice and peas & cabbage and a beef patty with coco bread. The chicken was falling off the bones. It was so good we placed a to go order for dinner. The rich, flavorful gravy had us savoring every bite. Our server Marlow provided top-notch service. He was friendly, attentive and made some great recommendations. The expedient service, the vibe and delicious cuisine delivered an unforgettable Caribbean experience. Can’t wait to go back!🏝️🔥

The food was not bad but it was not hot it came out warm. My drink was too sweet. We ordered key lime pie for dessert to go and the presentation was not there. I haven't been here in quite awhile so I can say it didn't taste as good as before. Our waiter was nice and attentive. Maybe better luck next time.

I hadn't been to this restaurant in about 3 years and unfortunately I don't think I'm going to come back. The food that I ordered was perfectly fine but during my visit with my family we had a very long wait time for our food and no one came out to say anything or give an update I had to flag down a waitress to ask. And then when we paid our ticket, they tip themselves $30, stating that parties of five and up get charged a 20% gratuity. 20% for her just refilling water and bringing us a receipt. Although the encounters with the waitress were friendly, she did not need a $30 tip as she didn't even ask my family if they wanted refills for the drinks that they had ordered. My sister said that her rice was cold as well. My brother-in-law's oxtails were mostly bone, & they split them in half, definitely not worth $25 Unfortunately I have to agree with the rest of the people and say that the service is not great. By the way, nowhere on that menu did it say parties of five or greater usually in restaurants it's party of six. I think because we were short one person, they decided they were just going to charge 20% anyway. I tried to look for it on the way out, and there is nothing at the front of the store stating that parties of five or greater are charged 20%!

You get a nice amount of food and that’s quite impressive for an oxtail entree. Oxtails were tender but I wasn’t a fan of the gravy. Service was fast and was a simple process to order takeout

The food was decent, but the speed and quality of customer service is not worth the trip. The $20 alcoholic drink I had was nothing but juice. The amount of time it took to order and recieve food was abysmal, not worth coming back.

Omg first off the waiter was kind very attentive but I was shocked the small portions and the quality of the food" I ordered fried chicken cabbage, rice and peas .. it sides were cold mediocre and I've never seen such small chickens sticks no breast broke and have like drummetes mostly fried flour wow.. slightly seasoned food ty.

I love this place for some quality Caribbean food. I’ve been to The Island Spot a few times, but I had never tried the Snapper. I am so glad that I did because The Red Snapper was delicious. The fish was tender, and the sauce was full of flavor and spice. I couldn’t handle the spice, but I managed lol. I was a little disappointed in the steamed veggies. They weren’t as flavorful nor was the cabbage shredded finely as before. I still enjoyed it. This place makes a yummy Negril’s Rum Punch. This drink is one of my favorites. It is fruity and has packs a light punch. 😉 I opted for the jumbo size it was so good. I totally recommend that size if you are a Rum Punch drinker. The Island Spot has another location in Oak Cliff in Dallas, if Carrollton is too far for you. The prices are in line with the quality and amount of food that you get. There are lunch specials M-F that are very affordable. It’s definitely fair. You can’t go wrong with this place. I am looking forward to trying the Snapper Escovitch. It is fried Red Snapper. If you are in the mood for some tasty Carribean bites, go check out The Island Spot. Don’t forget to tell them Guilty P sent you.

4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed this Jamaican spot. The casual and laid back atmosphere was great as well as the service. The drinks were good, so was the food. I had cocoa bread, stew chicken, cabbage, rice and peas. I enjoyed the food minus the cocoa bread (I wish it was sweeter). My meal was around $30. I’ll definitely be back and next time with my family. Check it out!
