The Shed Market

From the moment you pull up, it's clear that The Shed is not just a shed. With indoor and outdoor seating, the family atmosphere is apparent and the seating is ample. The service is counter order but all the food is on display and the meat cutters are nice enough to occasionally let a small taste make its way off the boards and into a tummy. All the meat is well smoked and can certainly be considered competition grade. Although there is no table service as such, but the staff are all pleasent and friendly. Two meals with drinks, no alcohol approx $ 35. We don't get to Abilene often, but can understand why it's a local favorite.

I was recently in Abilene visiting my family and we went to The Shed for lunch one day and it was delicious! BBQ is hard to do right and this was some of the best I’ve ever had. I enjoyed both the lean and moist brisket. My husband and five year old devoured the ribs and eight year old enjoyed the sausage! I also wanted second and thirds of the asparagus 🙌🏻 I need to call and find out how they cook it. Ha! Honestly, The Shed was so good we went back the next day to try more…we all ordered steak and it was cooked to perfection…truly. If the above hasn’t convinced you to give it a try yet, the kindness and smiles of the owners should. We happened to meet the husband and wife duo and they made us feel like regulars. I felt as if I were in the dining room of their house enjoying a meal as old friends. I hope you’ll head to The Shed soon and have as enjoyable of a time as we did…twice! We will go back next time we are in town!

Great food! The owners are amazing and the staff is always so friendly! I highly recommend getting there early because they will run out of their popular foods. The ribs are amazing but so is the sliced brisket! And the macaroni and cheese is an absolute must! You will not be disappointed here no matter what you order!

Fantastic BBQ! The ribs are amazing! Definitely not a let down, the food is worth the money and it's not ridiculously priced like most places. But, if you're short you'll have to climb up onto a stool that's heavy to pull out because they're packed and there's not many tables that are lower. And then in the walkway outside in the front there's a long table with a long bench that has pretruding legs that you can trip over it's heavy so it doesn't move (I'm in my 40s and tripped over it trying to walk to our car, they should really think of somewhere else to put this, before someone else gets seriously hurt on it.)

We drive 1200 miles and this was the highlight of the trip!!! We always make time for The Shed when we’re close! Great BBQ, and that’s coming from the wife of a South Texas BBQ pit master!! We love the new building and are so happy for the continued success of the shed! The pics are horrible because we just dug in…no time for the phone to eat!

We sat outside and enjoyed much needed sunshine (from Maine so you know, just lost last bit of snow). When in Abilene, put this on your “to do” list for either lunch or supper!
