Incredible history, phenomenal food, and amazing ambience. The cocktail lounge before dinner was a great intro to such a historic and unique restaurant. The lobster dip, lump crab bisque, and creamed corn are to die for!

The Standard at the Smith House is an absolute treasure in Nashville! The historic charm of the building creates a one-of-a-kind ambiance, but what truly sets this place apart is the impeccable service. The wait staff is always attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, ensuring every visit is memorable. On my last visit, I had their signature dish, The Standard—an incredibly tender filet cooked to perfection. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and paired perfectly with their standout side: the corn on the cob. I don’t know what magic they use, but it’s hands down the best corn I’ve ever tasted! Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself, The Standard never fails to deliver an exceptional dining experience. It’s hands down one of my favorite places to eat in Nashville!

The Standard is just off Broadway set in a beautiful multistory antebellum home from the 1840’s. Right when you walk through the front door, the stage is set. You are warmly greeted and ushered back to a comfortably lit sitting area with massive ceilings and a small bar serving up anything you’re desiring. Settle down into a cozy seating space while you await your table. The atmosphere all around is charming with nicely decorated rooms where tables are generously spaced from each other. The service is top notch and you are treated as if you are a cherished guest in the home. The food is expertly crafted and clearly something they put a lot of pride into. This is a must do restaurant if you are looking for a fine dining experience in Nashville.

This was quite the experience. Although we didn't get to try the whole menu since it was a large group and the menu was picked for us, the place was great It's set in an old brownstone building and when you walk in you get the old home vibe vs a restaurant. We were ushered to the basement where our large table was waiting for us. The service was excellent and we were promptly given our drinks and got comfortable. We were given a surf n turf of a filet and salmon, all of which were great. Dessert was offered and graciously accepted to top of the night. Definitely recommend this as a cool date spot. Menu looks delicious.

Great service and a fabulous venue for a fine dining experience. We had the private Wine Locker room, big enough for a party of 10. The wine cellar room is larger. Our ribeye and filet steaks, seafood and sides were wonderful.

Had a 530 rez before a show at the new Pinnacle venue. Seated quickly, but then sat and waited an unusual amount of time for our waiter to show up, while tables sat after us were served before us. Once the waiter showed up, he was great. The place is very cool. The atmosphere won't disappoint. The lobster dip was great. The sauce for the calamari was underwhelming. The Smith House salad was also really good. I got the lamb, and so did the couple we were with. Both dishes were overcooked to medium instead of medium rare. With all the fancy equipment, how does this happen? However, the meat was still tender and seasoned well. The creamed corn was incredible. My wife got the sea bass and said it was good, but not great. Food was priced well. Overall, I'd go back and give it another shot at a 5-star experience.

My fiancé and I came here the night he proposed. It has such a beautiful, romantic atmosphere. They had a bottle of champagne waiting for us, which shows how much they care! We got a glass of wine each while we waited for our reservation, and then moved to our table. Our server was amazing. He was very friendly and attentive to all our needs, always making sure our glasses were full and we were laughing. As for the food, we went with two of their daily specials! My fiancé got their A5 wagyu and he has been ranting about it since. I don't think I've ever seen him happier! I got their roasted veal and had no regrets because it was absolutely scrumptious. We finished off our meal with a glass of dessert wine and the best fruit cobbler we have ever had. You cannot get better food, service, and atmosphere. We live in Ohio and will most likely visit every anniversary since it's worth the trip in itself. My only recommendation is an uber may be a better option as downtown Nashville is expensive! For parking in the lot next to the restaurant, we paid $80. Don't be lame, EAT HERE!!!

The MOST AMAZING food. I'm from Vegas, so I "know" those 5* places. This place is at our 5*, even above. I was at dinner with 4 Guys, and another lady. ALL 4 Guys ordered the ribeye and all 4 had different temps and ways to cook their steak. The other lady had a filet mignon and i ordered Shrimp and Grits. I have NEVER seen everyone's steaks cooked exactly as they requested. EXACTLY cooked. The filet, as well. And do NOT sleep in the Shrimp and Grits!! AMAZING. Save room for dessert, too. The Whiskey Bread Pudding, Chocolate Mousse and Jack Daniels Cheesecake are all a must! Service is 5*, friendly, fun and professional. Go and enjoy!! You won't be disappointed
