Our server Sophie was amazing. The food was amazing. The live music was fantastic! We ordered the wedge salad and the beefsteak tomato and onion salad to start. The wedge was a huge portion and easily sharable. The tomato and onion salad was okay. The Chilean Sea Bass was cooked to perfection. The lamb chops were explosive with flavors and amazing texture. The bourbon bread pudding for dessert was very good. It was unusual I that it wasn’t just bread but also peaches and apple and tasted more like a cobbler than a bread pudding but the bourbon sauce was great!we will definitely return the next time we visit Nashville!

Loved our dinner here. Hal's has a wonderfully classic steakhouse vibe with a super convenient location in Nashville. They had live piano music without it being too loud to have a nice dinner. Food was fantastic and the service was attentive and fast. Highly recommend the steak, brussels sprouts, and getting a 2nd basket of the amazing garlic bread.

We loved Hal’s I had the Lobster Le’beaux and oyster. I lovvvvveeeeddd the lobster. My boyfriend liked the oyster, I don’t care for fried oyster so he ate it. He also ordered gumbo and loved it. Says it’s in his top 3 favs of all time. I had rack of lambs for my entree and loved it. That wine sauce or whatever that sauce was complements it well. My new fav lamb chops in Nashville because they weren’t gamey. Matt ordered the NY strip and I loved how flavorful it was, very well seasoned. He said Hal’s is neck and neck with Jimmy Kelly’s but I liked Hal’s better. For sides we ordered Lobster Mac & cheese and the creamed spinach dish. Matt loved the mac & cheese. I didn’t care for it, but we realize it is because I just don’t like truffle butter. The spinach on the other hand was to die for. It was so good that I kept it as leftovers and ate it yesterday with chips and tacos. Some of the best creamed spinach we’ve had in town. Drinks were good and strong. Dessert was good it reminded us of McNamaras in Donelson. We had the bread It was voted one of the best Irish restaurants in the country. Customer service was top tier. All of the staff was friendly, and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping us make a decision. I ordered a lemon drop and he let me know that there were other flavors and options which I really appreciated. One time he brought it out with sugar on the rim because he forgot that I said no sugar, but I told him that was OK and he still took it back Anyways and got it fixed so I really appreciate that as well. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back soon.

We had a great bartender, and a fantastic meal before a show at Bridgestone. The live music was a-typical for Downtown (in a very good way). More sophisticated, not too loud, and very appropriate for the restaurant. Awesome gumbo; new to my top 5 list worldwide.

While vacationing in Nashville, my wife and I chose Hal's Steakhouse to celebrate our anniversary dinner. We were excited to try this highly regarded spot, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations. I ordered the $88 20-ounce ribeye, a splurge we hoped would deliver a truly memorable meal. However, the steak arrived missing the end cap—the best part of a ribeye, in my opinion. Who thought that was a good idea? To add to the disappointment, it was slightly undercooked and lacked the seasoning you'd expect from a steak at this price point. My wife opted for the Chilean sea bass. While the fish was cooked well, it was overly salty, as were the accompanying mushrooms and garlic bread. The excessive saltiness overwhelmed the flavors, leaving us longing for the balance and finesse you'd expect from a high-end establishment. Perhaps our expectations were too high, coming from Chicago, where we're spoiled by the likes of Gibson's Steakhouse, Maestro, and Capitol Grill. Compared to these exceptional restaurants, Hal's just didn't measure up. For the price and the occasion, we left a little disappointed. Hal's may have its strengths, but for us, it didn’t quite deliver the elevated dining experience we were hoping for.

First time to Nashville to celebrate my fiancés birthday, and first time at Hal’s. Theres so much good to say about this place! Our server Karah was the best! She took her time explaining the menu and Hal’s story to us. She made our experience top tier! The atmosphere was so nice for a date night or special occasion. The food was beyond delicious, one of the best steaks my fiancé and I ever had! Would definitely come back here when visiting Nashville again. Highly recommend!

Well, I'll give you some good free advice... Take the time, make the reservation, and make it a part of your trip. I recently had the opportunity to dine at Hal's with several friends. The table service as well as the meal that was prepared were simply extraordinary. Mike was extremely knowledgeable of the food, preparation, and took great care of us that night. We had a variety of appetizers as well as entrees. Honestly, simply put we had a wonderful meal, service, and ambiance that night. What a great place to enjoy a great meal with good friends. Take the time and book your night. I hope yours is as good as mine was. Enjoy!
