We went for Gospel Brunch. Sat at the bar and the entire bar staff was phenomenal and attentive. We got the chop salad, she crab soup, oysters Rockefeller and the special of the day, hot honey fried chicken biscuit. The food was 5 stars. Also, live music from Heidi was incredible. Definitely an experience to go for Sunday brunch.

We went for lunch. I ordered onion soup and shish kabobs. The meat was so tender yet not fatty at all. The vegetables were grilled but not burned. The soup was just how I like it: very cheesy.

We were in town visiting my brother-in-law who lives in the Gulch and decided to celebrate my birthday at Hall’s. The service was unlike anywhere else we’ve dined — starting with the reservation process. I called to make a reservation for a Saturday with only a week’s notice and we were accommodated with ease. Everyone was friendly upon our arrival and the ambience was perfect for carrying conversation. We tried all sorts of food: she-crab soup, beet salad, Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, steaks, grouper, scallops, lamb, skillet cookie, chocolate cake, and crème brûlée. Everything was delicious. We absolutely adored that the family-style sides (mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts) were served individually (every other steakhouse we’ve been to just throws the sides on the table for self-service). Our server was attentive and informative. 10/10 recommend and my brother-in-law can’t wait to return on a regular basis. We don’t get to visit Nashville often, but we know where we will be eating when we do!

Our waitress was Sunny, we had a party of 12 and the entire experience was unbelievable. Sunny was the best waitress I have ever had. We tried a slew of food and all of it was outstanding. The way they present the accompaniments are great because they are shareable for the whole table and will be served to anyone who wants them. The mixed drinks were well made and presented excellently, Sunny also brought my pregnant wife an outstanding “mocktail” in order to not let her feel left out. The atmosphere was also the best of any restaurant I’ve ever been to, not only was the lighting dim and perfect for dinner but the music selection and volume was S tier. Overall the experience was one of a kind and I recommend it to everyone.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hall’s Chophouse to celebrate my fiancé and my two-year anniversary, and overall, it was a delightful experience. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated at our reserved table, which was comfortable. However, I had requested a table away from the live music, which, while pleasant and romantic—featuring jazz and blues—made conversation a challenge. The lack of adequate lighting over our table was a noticeable issue; even the staff resorted to using tiny flashlights to help us preview the menu and check our steak's doneness. More illumination in the back dining hall would definitely enhance the atmosphere. Our server, Lauren, was exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and patient with our questions. She provided constant attention to our table, ensuring all our needs were met while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor that felt genuine. Now, let’s discuss the food. We started with the French onion soup and crab cake. Both were delightful, although the crab cake was slightly over-salted, which didn’t deter me from devouring it. My fiancé selected a bottle of Slingshot red wine, which she found flavorful and sweet—definitely a recommendation. For my main course, I ordered the porterhouse, which I initially had to send back to cook from rare to medium rare, as I had requested. However, when it returned at the correct temperature, it was nothing short of epic! Adding truffle butter took it to another level, making it the BEST STEAK I HAVE EVER HAD—no small feat considering my extensive experience at steakhouses. My fiancé opted for the bison cut, which was sensational as well, but I would still choose my porterhouse any day. The signature corn side, reminiscent of Mexican street corn but vastly superior, was worth every penny of its $19 price tag due to its generous portion and quality. The creamed spinach was average, and while the truffle fries were good, I've had better. For dessert, I tried the unique milkshake that requires no straw—rich and flavorful. However, my fiancé was less impressed with her caramel cake. In summary, Hall’s Chophouse is a euphoric and unbelievable steakhouse that impresses with both flavor and generous portions. The porterhouse was truly unforgettable, and I would return in a heartbeat. I highly recommend this establishment and suggest requesting Lauren as your server for an exceptional dining experience. Overall, a terrific experience and worth the price. (The reason I only gave the restaurant four stars was due to lack of light in the dining hall, the salty crabcake, and having to send the steak back initially. My experience must have no issues whatsoever to earn five stars)

Melondy, yes we are starting with the server, was amazing. She was the highlight of the 3 hour dining experience. She was knowledgeable of the menu and the surrounding areas for great conversation. She recommended the best things to try based on her experience with others and not her only opinion. I learned more about the history of the location and the way people are treated there. Very excited to come back and see her. Now the food was amazing. We started off with the shrimp cocktail and then the French onion soup. The Cesar Salad was amazing and this trip I took the shrimp and grits for the win.

This is a hip place to grab a solid meal. Wine selection was well rounded. High end spirits selection was sound. Of everything my party ate our evening, the steaks were the least impressive. This was a case where the higher end cuts were so vastly superior to the cheaper cuts, those cheaper cuts felt as though they didn’t belong on the same menu. However, our other, non-steak entrees, and especially the sides, were fantastic. The restaurant setting itself is warm and welcoming. Wood paneling and modern decor backed by expansive windows, all wrapping around the center kitchen.

After church on a Sunday, I had a delightful solo brunch at Hall’s Steakhouse and truly enjoyed the experience. I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict, paired with coffee and juice, and everything was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was fantastic—quiet, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing meal. My waiter was attentive and pleasant, adding to the overall excellent service. To top it off, I had a lovely view of downtown Nashville, making the experience even more enjoyable. I also had the puff rolls, and they were absolutely delicious! Light, flaky, and perfectly baked—they were the perfect addition to an already wonderful brunch. Chef’s kiss!
