Mixed reviews for Deacon's New South highlight both positives and negatives. Service and atmosphere are consistently praised as friendly and warm. Food quality varies significantly, with standout items like cornbread, crab cakes, and broccolini receiving high marks. However, prices for steaks have risen dramatically, with some diners expressing disappointment over preparation styles and overall value. Salt levels in dishes were also noted as overly high in some instances. Reservations are recommended, and the restaurant is conveniently located near Printers Alley. Many diners express a desire for better menu options akin to past offerings. Overall, while some meals were deemed exceptional, others did not meet expectations relative to their high prices.

We were very excited for our first visit Deacons as we saw a local food review with very positive results. Our food though, wasn’t even good for an Olive Garde. Pasta undercooked, Chicken was tough as if it was fast defrosted, collard greens were overcooked and over seasoned BUT the cornbread and crab cake was delicious. I wasn’t brave enough to pay for the dry aged steak, I did want to taste it, but the smallest cut was still $78. I’m glad now, based on the other items…I’d probably be disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place. It was a great and friendly service, great atmosphere.

My third time visiting and overall my wife and I had a very nice dinner experience. The service and atmosphere was fantastic. However, the menu changes are quite disappointing. My first time there was April 2019 and they had an amazing 16oz NY Strip for $36. It was cooked perfectly with a nice char/seared crust. That has been removed so I chose the 20oz Kansas City Strip for a whopping $78 unfortunately with no sear/crust, just regular grill. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth what I paid for it and would I get it again, no. I understand prices increase but not double for a steak that's not prepared as well as one that cost half the price 6 years ago. Bring back the prior menu selections and your method of preparing the steaks.

My wife and I ordered the following items: Bison Delmonico - 8/10 - it was really good. Cooked correctly. Broccolini - 10/10 the best broccolini I think you could possibly have. I didn't even know it could taste this great. Perfect seasoning, cook, portion size, and good price. Steak Frites 9/10 - really good seasoning, cooked correctly and a nice portion size. Mussels - 9/10 - we eat Mussels at a lot of restaurants and they are or 2nd favorite so far. Crawfish etouffee - this is an add on item for steak and I thought it was really delicious. It is a sauce consistency, but a really great flavor.

Highly recommend the prime rib sliders - they were my favorite item by far 🙌🏽 Food was pretty good but quality didn’t really match price but was still delish! Drinks were good and service was amazing!

### Перевод отзыва на английский: Today, I had a wonderful dinner at a very pleasant restaurant. I've passed by many times, but finally decided to go in. The service was very kind and pleasant. I tried two different wines. One was quite good, but the other was mediocre, even though the price difference was only $1. The salad was tasty but ordinary. Next, I had the fillet and was recommended mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were excellent, and the meat was well-cooked, with perfect doneness and texture, and it looked great, but the chef clearly overdid it with the salt. The salt level was about 8 out of 10, while the meat only needed 2-4. I tried to shake off 😀😀😀😀😀😀😹😹😹😹 the excess salt, but it didn’t help much. For dessert, I ordered Tiramisu. It turned out to be the most interesting interpretation of the original dessert. Very delicious. The biscuit was well-soaked, though unfortunately not with liqueur. The cream was not too sweet, and the presentation was nice. Thank you for a delicious dinner. Final bill - $165

I have been here twice, both times I have visited Nashville. It is absolutely the best steak I have ever eaten. What more can I say? Beyond the incredible food, the atmosphere is intimate and warm, and the service is top shelf. I hope to visit again.

Had an amazing dining experience with my family. The BBQ prawns and devilled eggs were extremely delicious. Aged steak melted in your mouth.
