I have heard so much about this restaurant. We went there for my birthday. The restaurant is very rustic. People come dressed from comfortable and casual to very dressed up. We were immediately seated because we had a reservation. Our waitress was very friendly and did an excellent job of telling this about the food and making suggestions. The meal started with our non-alcoholic beverage and a little cup of cheddar cheese and crackers. We then had wedge salads with blue cheese dressing. They were terrific and very filling! And for the main course, I had the fillet with shrimp and a sweet potato. My partner had the medium prime rib and the woodshed potatoes. We were so full that we could not get dessert, even though it was my birthday. We took home a doggy bag of goodies. I highly recommend this wonderful iconic restaurant.

I would recommend this while in Knoxville for the sheer history of the place. We enjoyed the food and the service was good. The prices were decent especially for the area. We did have to send a steak back because it wasn't well done but that is just how my better half likes it. Mine was great a beautiful crimson red. All in all plan to eat here. We were lucky and were seated immediately but from what I can tell this place is packed we just hit a good time.

This place is definitely a staple in our area! We have been coming here for years. We went on a Saturday, and got there a little before 4 (when they open) people was already lined up. One of my favorites is the cheese and crackers. You get a thing of cheese to spread on crackers. It is awesome. Most of the meals you get come with a salad which is great since most places you have to pay extra for one. The salads are on point. I got the chicken, added mushrooms along with the woodshed potatoes. You can’t go wrong at all. My husband got a New York strip and loaded baked potato. For dessert we got the red velvet cake. Everything was amazing as always.

We're from Ohio, but love to come here when we visit for our anniversary! We went today to celebrate 21 years and it was probably our best experience yet. The Prime Rib was out of this world. We loved the loaded baked potatoes with all the loaded ingredients served separately to fix how we like it. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We also appreciate the BYOB policy for liquor so we can enjoy a cocktail with our meal. We do wish the silverware was upgraded. Our server replaced my knife before he served our meals because he knew it was one of the older ones. But the forks and knives all should be upgraded to match the quality of the food. Overall fantastic dinner, and we will be back!

I had the New York Strip cooked medium rare, with a sweet potato, shrimp, and fried mushrooms. The New York strip was good but chewy. The sweet potato was amazing and highly recommended, the shrimp was delicious, and the fried mushrooms were also very good! The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great! Would go back! 85

This place is often recommended but I think for every person that recommends it, there's another person saying it's only okay. I understand why now. Patking is in the back and if you have anyone in your party that can't do hills, then this is not the place to go, unless you can drop them at the door and then pick them up at the door. There is a steep hill to the parking lot. The first thing we noticed was cigarette smokers out front on the way in and then on the way out. Some employees, some customers. We prefer when places have a policy of no smoking or vaping around the entrance. We were seated right away. Staff was pleasant and nice. Server was busy and it took her a while to check on us once we got our food but she did eventually make it over. I got grilled chicken and shrimp. My husband got a rib eye. The chicken was absolutely plain. No seasoning or anything. It was chewy. The shrimp could have been good, but i really didn't like the flame broiled flavor. Shrimp should not be prepared that way. I could only eat 1 or 2 of them. There was a good amount of food but again, I did not enjoy it. The steak was cooked the right way (medium) but husband said it was flavorless. Pretty thin too. The atmosphere is very rustic. Definitely do not need to dress up at all. We were surprised by the music they played (classical). We didn't dislike it, but it didn't seem to go with the rustic ambience. Overall, we are glad we tried it, but will not go back.

We celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary today there with friends. The server was Shannon, and she did a fabulous job♡ Our order was perfect, and she took care of refills and was prompt and tentative to all of our needs and questions. Our food was prepared as requested and very delicious. This is my favorite Steakhouse and my go-to when special occasions arise or if in the mood for a delicious steak. Note that everyone here is always friendly and accommodating. We always feel right at home and welcomed every time we visit. Definitely recommend & we will always return.

It’s my birthday and my boyfriend wanted to take me out for dinner. We’ve both been wanting to try Ye Old Steakhouse for a while now. We both ordered a steak and he had shrimp with his as well. My ribeye was flavorless. Once the server came back over, I asked for a little bit of seasoning. She ain’t understand what I wanted and asked if I wanted butter. I told her no. I just wanted a little bit of steak seasoning so that I could try to enjoy my meal. She took my plate after I told her no and added what looked like the butter for the shrimp. I was not impressed at all. I said no to the butter and you took my plate anyways and added it. Butter is not seasoning. Kind of upset that we spent a bunch of money and still left hungry. I work at a restaurant that serves steaks and the flavor was not there. My steak wasn’t even cooked to the right temp, but I wasn’t going to complain. There was probably more flavor and seasoning on those potatoes with the onions than on my steak.
