Customer Review Summary

Garrison Oak Steakhouse received mixed reviews from diners. Many praised the quality of the food, highlighting dishes such as prime rib, chicken marsala, and charcuterie as exceptional, with some noting the great atmosphere and attentive service. Specific servers, like Mackenzie and Tameka, were noted for their excellent service that enhanced the dining experience. However, several diners reported significant issues, including poor seasoning, overcooked steaks, and a lingering smell of cigarettes, which detracted from the overall experience. There were also complaints about service inconsistencies, with some patrons encountering inexperienced staff who struggled with order accuracy. While some expressed a desire to return based on positive experiences, others felt disappointed and suggested seeking better options elsewhere, especially at the steep prices for less than satisfactory food.

Took the mother in law for her birthday, it was everyone's first time. We got prime rib, the chicken marsala and a few other dishes. I mention those though because they were just absolutely perfect. The risotto was fantastic with the chicken, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend coming here, it is worth the price, they nail the quality. We will be returning!

I cannot say enough about the SERVICE and food. It was 5 star white glove! From our host, Carlos, our server, Tameka, Crystal the manager, to chef Dave (I hope that’s right), who made my favorite meal. We were taken to our table and on the way, Carlos showed us the wines, charcuterie, and desserts. Our table was reserved with a Happy Anniversary, which all that took care of us said to us. The drinks were great and Chef Dave served our Beef Wellington, which was awesome, fantastic, superb. This meal is not on the menu, but they made it specially for us at my husband’s request. They made our Anniversary very special and the service was just like it used to be, back in the 70’s and 80’s, what you expect from a fine dinning restaurant. Sorry we were almost done with our meal when I remembered to take pictures.

An unforgettable negative experience. Reviewing the menu online and seeing the prices, I had pretty high expectations. The restaurant is beautiful and classy in appearances. Everything was very orderly from the entrance of the restaurant to the table. Sadly, there is an over baring smell of cigarettes that lingered in the air. Like you walked into a cloud of smoke and couldn't escape. This caused our eyes to be irritated. Being close to the casino room where smoking is allowed, you would figure there would be a filtration system in place. On a more positive note, the employees, like the host, appeared professional and kind. This includes the attendant to the table. He was a funny young man who communicated well and provided entertainment. The waiter/server was decent. He appeared and disappeared in the blink of an eye, which was weird as the establishment was not busy by any means at this time. When it came time for drinks and starters, we decided on a burraita meatball ($19.00) and a dirty martini to slip on, which was awesome. The meatball, however, was not worth the $19 dollars! It was bland and small. (photo of meatball posted) Ordering our entrees, the server seemed to struggle with retaining what we requested and did not write things down. I had ordered the 16 ounce NY strip medium well (priced at $65.00) with a loaded baked potato (priced at $9.00), my company ordered the 10 ounce fillet mignon medium rare ($45.00) with mashed potatoes ($9.00) and a side of mushrooms. Before he left the table, he would forget what was ordered and had to be reminded a few times. When the food arrived, the fillet was overcooked with the staff stating, "That's what was ordered by the server." This item had to be returned. I received what appeared to be a ribeye as it was extremely fatty rather than a NY strip, which is lean, also did not receive the loaded baked potatoe at this time and was told it would be out in a moment. Sadly, I never received the loaded baked potatoe at any point. The manager did come to apologize for the overcooked steak mistake and offered a free dessert. The experience was lackluster and disappointing as it is supposed to be a fine dining experience. I would recommend driving to Nashville or Clarskville not only to get a better steak, especially at that price. But to also avoid everything you're wearing, smelling like cigarettes.

$72 for a steak is pretty heavy, $72 dollars for a steak with a flower as a side is absolutely wild. Hands down in the top five worst most unseasoned pieces of meat Ive ever had. This waste of a porterhouse had zero seasoning on it, looks like it was reheated from a prior cook and was severely unevenly cooked (back to my reheated assumption). It was ordered med rare most of it was medium some of it was medium rare. I want to hope this is a one off but I’d rather gamble on the floor than in the restaurant.

Amazing food. My wife got the charcuterie board and I got the prime rib & an Old Fashion. Not only did the food come out FAST but it was PERFECT! Chef's 💋 Atmosphere is awesome with good lighting and the music was on point! Made us feel like we were in an old school Italian restaurant. I wish I could give this place 7 stars. Oh and the service was TOP SHELF! Ask for MacKenzie and tip her well. We will be back!

Don't go for the food. We were not impressed and everything we ate made our stomach upset later. Maybe have drinks here and that's it. The seasoning on the burger patty was not flavorful and my hubby has had better steak at Longhorns he said and we've ate at many steakhouses. We celebrated a birthday occasion here and I will say that they do a nice birthday dessert for the special birthday guest. It was not a place I will be returning back to for the food though, but the service and atmosphere was fine.

My wife took me to Garrison Oak Steakhouse for Father’s Day. We did have reservations and not that they were busy when we got there, I’m glad we had reservations anyways. The hostess was very nice, attentive and answered the few questions we did have. We each ordered a drink, my wife ordered a French martini and I ordered a Raspberry Old Fashion (smoked). Both drinks were very good! For an appetizer, we ordered the Kentucky Crab Cakes, they were delicious and had more blue crab meat than anything else. They were crispy, hot and seasoned well. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Salmon (with lemon, dill and capers) and a side of crispy brussel sprouts. She loved her meal! I ordered the King Prime Rib (medium rare) with a side of fresh mushrooms and onions (not cooked long enough for me personally but still good) and a side of macaroni and cheese. The steak was seasoned well, cooked just how I wanted it and was tender and juicy. There were two sauces that came with it, a horseradish sauce and an au jus (I ordered the béarnaise sauce which was $4 and also asked for the housemate steak sauce). The horseradish sauce was my favorite. The macaroni and cheese was creamy with a good blend of the cheese. Lastly, for dessert, we shared the carrot cake that comes in a warm cast iron skillet. I love carrot cake and I will say, this is up there as one of the better carrot cakes I’ve tried. They do not do a military discount and that’s ok. We would go back for special occasions and we recommend this steakhouse for those looking for a nice, quiet, casual place to enjoy a dinner.

My husband and I dined here to celebrate our 11th Anniversary and we are so glad we did! Mackenzie was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable about the menu and was very accommodating. Our food and drinks were delicious! We can’t wait to come back!
