Been going here for over 30 years! Always a sweet place in my heart for Syun. They have a wonderful staff and a quaint atmosphere. If you’re in the mood for a delicious Japanese meal or a sushi Delight, I highly recommend you check this place out. They are small, but they take reservations and they have a room you can use with long tables for group dining or a birthday celebration. I went to celebrate my birthday with two dear and close friends and had a wonderful meal! Great variety, excellent specialties and even better service! Highly recommend checking out their great selection of Sake’s and specialty cocktails, their rolls are awesome and very pretty! Made me want to eat more than I could have. Haha! Husband and I were visiting from Salem, in the area to buy a car. Decided last min to eat here and we're happy we did! It's in the basement of a charming building, and the atmosphere was perfect and relaxing. Seems you can enter from two different doors/sides of building. Service was friendly, professional and quick. Food waa delicious. Would definitely go back for a nice date.

Came here with my family. Everything was sooooo fresh. We ordered XL sashimi platter and some rolls to share. Their California roll use REAL CRAB MEAT (Amazing if you ask me). Everything was perfect. Excellent service and food. Highly recommended

Perfect day to sit outside under the trees, and enjoy the view. Our server was amazing! He never let our tea get cold or left us for longer than we wanted. The food was amazing and beautifully prepared.

Original No rice sushi roll ⭐⭐⭐✨ - tastes healthy in a good way - unsure if I loved the crab though - liked the creaminess of it l Ramen salad ⭐⭐✨ - wouldn't reorder - cold which was expected Sake zousui ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - salmon mushroom porridge soup Would try: - stir fried vegetables

This place is good. The staff is friendly the food is good… atmosphere is good.. the place overall is very pleasant.. Do not order the Philadelphia roll.. 😂 everything else that i tried was 🔥..

This is a gem. The last time I was here was more than 10 years ago, but the place is essentially the same. Probably the best Izakaya that I have been to in America. Don't mean anything derogatory to Hillsboro downtown, which is up and coming with lots of new constructions going on and new chic restaurants and shops, I'm surprised that this place is not in downtown Portland. Didn't have any alcoholic beverages, but I am certain one would find his or her favorite here. Selections are voluminous.
