Benchmark Restaurant

Our first time and we loved everything about our experience. We had a 4 pm reservation and received a reminder call while in route 15 minutes before. We were promptly seated upon arrival. Our server was Mark D. He was absolutely awesome. We had appetizers, shared a wedge salad and incredible entrees. My crab cake was a little bit dry. Never had BBQ oysters before. They were amazingly delicious. The steak was extremely tender. We will definitely return in the future.

Our first trip and it did not disappoint! Our server Ricardo did a fantastic job of walking us through the menu. Your initial look may give you a bit of sticker shock but I swear it was worth every penny so indulge if you can. Ohh and the pop over bread could be a meal on its own my god it was amazing.

For the food to be as expensive as it it is and ala carte, I expected better. The waitress was nice, but brought cold popovers. The French Onion Soup was pretty good. My Mother in law’s Blackened Salmon was good and she had asparagus and mashed potatoes. My Blackened Salmon was MEDIUM which was RAW in the center, so I ate around it. The Crabcake was Not Great. Lastly, the Ribeye…We asked for Medium but it came out RARE. Overall, wouldn’t come back. Maybe in OHIO this is a staple kind of place and high end. I’m not sure, but the kitchen needs to take the time to SEASON their food and not try to cook it QUICKLY, but cook the food evenly so the inside matches the outside. Have charred food on the outside, and RAW on the inside suggests HIGH HEAT and the inside can’t catch up.

The service is amazing. It’s next level. Our server, Cassie, was so professional and knowledgeable about the menu. I was really impressed with our experience start to finish. It’s rare (meat joke?) to get this kind of dining experience these days.

Took my love here for his birthday yesterday. The staff was amazing. Our server was energetic, funny and gave recommendations. All of her recommendations were great!! We had Ribeyes and Grilled shrimp. The Brussel Sprouts were absolutely delicious as well as the Gouda Macaroni. We left the bacon off. The cocktails were delicious!!!

The Benchmark Restaurant is fantastic! We sat at the bar and enjoyed a great experience beginning to end. Friendly, welcoming, high quality and delicious food and drinks. The Sea Bass, Prime Filet and sides pictured were excellent. The Barbara wine is a crowd pleasure.

I am from the UK and visited Benchmark while visiting family who moved to Ohio a couple of months ago. My brother in law took us to this restaurant, and my goodness, it was such an incredible experience. I have travelled and eaten in many restaurants around Europe, even within several regions of Italy, and I still firmly believe that Benchmark is one of, if not, the best restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere, the drinks, the service, the FOOD! The presentation, and the experience overall, was unforgettable. We had a lovely waitress named Savannah, if i remember her name correctly, and she was just wonderful and kind, and catered to our needs in a very professional and thoughtful manner. She clearly really enjoys her job and wanted to make us feel taken care of, which she did! I ordered the shrimps and grits for my main course because I wanted to try foods that were regional to the area and that we don’t have in my country and it was so amazing, I truly cannot express how much I enjoyed this dish. Absolutely everything about it was just perfect. The quality of the prawns, how it was presented, the flavours, everything was very special and clearly had been prepared by an excellent chef. Also our starters were amazing, as seen in the photos, we had beef carpaccio and a prosciutto and melon salad to share between four of us. They also gave us “popovers” when we arrived which were also delicious, and rather similar to our Yorkshire puddings we have in England with a roast dinner. For dessert our waitress recommended the bourbon cake to share which is also similar to a British classic, which we call sticky toffee pudding, an excellent recommendation because we ate it so fast! I wanted to write this review because it was a very unforgettable night and I enjoyed it so much that I want to hop on another 7 hour flight from London just to eat here again. Whether you are a local or visitor, you must try Benchmark. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience!

This is an elevated "meat and potatoes" restaurant. They do steak very well, but be warned the seafood and vegetarian options are limited here. The bar is awesome here and the cocktails are excellent. They have a semi-private event room, and the decor here feels like it has history even though it is a very new building and restaurant . Just check the menu before going to make sure it is a fit for you, but the quality of food and service here will not disappoint.
