About Angus Grill - steak house in Wilmington, North Carolina
Customer Review Summary
Angus Grill has received mixed reviews. Many patrons enjoyed the food, especially the Hawaiian burger, sweet potato waffle fries, rib eye Philly cheese steak, and the fried green tomato burger. The atmosphere is appreciated, with a clean environment and friendly staff, and it's noted to be dog-friendly. However, there are significant complaints about slow service and long wait times, particularly during busy periods. Some customers reported lukewarm food and issues with incorrect ordering, leading to frustration. Additionally, concerns were raised about the quality of the chicken Caesar wrap and the use of styrofoam for takeout. Nonetheless, some still view it as a decent neighborhood burger spot.

Man are we thankful that we found this place! The Hawaiian burger was so tasty! The sweet potato waffle fries were so good too. Everyone in our party was happy with their burger and sides!

I am sitting here in Angus Grill with a friend for their birthday. We waited for a while for a salad and burger. About 10 minutes after we ordered, another party of 4 came in. About 10 minutes after that a party of 3 came in. We are all in the same area. We received apps. Shortly after, party of 3 received apps. Now party of 3 have their burgers. Seeing the confusion on my face, Waitress said it’s because of the online orders. I Guess that’s a good reason to give the others their order first. Also party of 4 across from us still waiting on drinks. Got to do better people.

Dropped in for a drink and lunch. Burger was delicious but kind of small.

Great place, kind of hidden away but worth the search. I had the rib eye Philly cheese steak. Clean environment. Friendly staff and customers, and dog friendly. Food won't disappoint

Our daughter had been here before and had a good experience, but it was awful tonight. Very long wait time, to the point we were about to ask for the ticket on our drinks and leave. Waitress barely appeared the whole time. The food was all lukewarm, the bread and some of the toppings ( like chili) had never been warmed up at all. The table next to us sent theirs back because it was cold. And the staff can't claim it was because they were busy, they were only about half full on a Saturday night. Will never return.

Chicken Caesar was good but chicken was diced, usually it is sliced thinner or shredded in other places. The Caesar was liquid when it should have been creamy. My grandchildren got the chicken nuggets and potato nuggets. These items were fried in oil that had not been changed in a while. Compared to the pictures of orders at website, the difference in color is night and day. Their food was really really dark. Unacceptable. Styrofoam! This material is detrimental to animals, land or marine. Should be banned here like it is in other places

Calling in a Togo was weird. When I called somebody answered and just said “hello?” and then nothing else so I was a little thrown off and thought that maybe Google had the wrong number. So after saying hello again and just getting a “yes”? In response, I had to ask if this number was for Angus Grill to which I was told yes. So then I asked if I wanted to place a to go order and my order was taken over the phone without any issue. I ordered the black and bleu burger and made it a double with tots as my side and a grilled chicken Caesar wrap with fries as my side. The tots pretty standard, but the fries were definitely delicious. I enjoyed the size of the burger, but the chicken Caesar wrap was rather lacking (in size not taste). The entire wrap was comparable to the size of a small tv remote. Not a whole lot there. The presentation of the to go boxes was tidy. They wrap your side items in parchment paper so they aren’t just sliding around in a greasy takeout container. They also provided all the condiments I needed and some napkins which is always nice. My total for the two entrées was $30.33. I didn’t not get drinks, just the two sandwiches. I think the price is for the burgers are pretty standard, but I don’t think I could recommend anyone getting the wraps as I don’t think it matched the price tag. Overall, I think this is a pretty decent neighborhood burger place.
