We were in High Point looking for an interesting place to have an early dinner or late lunch. We did a google search of casual dining in the area and came up with Sammy G's. The menu has great offerings. I decided on the seafood pasta. It came with a delicious crab cake on top and a decent amount of shrimp under a generous serving of pasta. I have a pretty healthy appetite, and I could only finish half. It was great value for the money. My wife got the stuffed flounder, once again a very good portion size, and very flavorful. The fish tasted fresh and was well seasoned. They also have a few signature cocktails that were as visually appealing as they taste. This place is a must try if you are in the area.

Clean and pleasant atmosphere. Staff and waitress were great. Portions could be a bit larger for price. Quality of food was good. We had reservations but it seems they can seat you fairly fast without. Overall, great! I would recommend giving them a try. Recommended!

I was here last night and the wait staff was polite and attentive. The hostess and the waitress. The food was average could use a lot more flavor. I ordered the bourbon pork chops with mashed potatoes with asparagus and bacon jam. The bourbon flavor on the pok chop was good but I don't understand why they didn't season the meat. Every element of your dish should have a nice flavor that doesn't overpower the dish. The mashed potatoes were ok, the Brussel sprouts could use some seasoning and the bacon jam was basically non existent. If that is supposed to be apart of your dish your customers should see it and it should be a nice portion to go with the Brussel sprouts. I enjoyed the bread basket more than I did my meal.

My husband absolutely loved his meal. He had the stuffed flounder. I had the tavern chicken which said it was fried chicken with ham.Any roasted tomato. Take the next, the tomato was very raw. I eat cooked tomatoes but not raw ones. Overall it's normally a good experience here. What I do wish they would have roasted the tomato prior to adding it to the meal.

First time dining here and I’ve gotta admit, the food is pretty delicious. The salmon was sooo tender.. and the sauce? Amazing! Good prices on drinks, plus the cocktails are strong. Their dinner rolls? Definitely a must! Soft, warm and buttery - one basket will leave you craving more. The fries were beyond unimpressive. Dry, under salted, and some were kind of hard. Decent service, definitely a bit of a wait, nothing special. All in all, it’s a good spot for a nice meal.

The food was pretty solid. The mustard sauce on the pork chop was delicious. The bang bang shrimp were also perfectly crispy with very little spice. The creamed corn was my favorite part by far. The prices seemed reallyyy high for most of the items. We had three entrees, two drinks and an appetizer and it came out to $150 before tip, definitely was shocked to see the bill. The noise level in the restaurant was also unbearable, I felt like I was screaming the whole time and left with a headache.

Welp I do not know who the day time chef is but once you start burning bread it’s time to rethink your career choice. Nice people but chef not that good and you can tell by the bread not passionate about cooking, seems like they just needed any job.

Sammy G's has great food, a great selection of taps, and a very attentive staff. Each dish is perfectly prepared. That can take a little time. My only complaint is that it is sometimes a little loud but that happens anywhere good. This is where we go to celebrate as a family!
