The food was great! It was our first time at Johnny's for our family of five, and everyone loved it. Everyone had some variation of fried chicken, and it was great. My wife and I had their BBQ cheddar and bacon chicken, but with fried chicken instead of grilled. It was delicious. I did need to ask for more of their Cheerwine sauce (it's so good). The portion of the chicken was very large too. I had the sweet potatoes and mac and cheese sides. Both were good. Not the best, but very much what you'd expect. The cornbread was moist and just sweet enough. It was excellent. The kids had chicken and waffles/tenders, and everyone was happy with their choices. The place was clean, and the service was prompt and friendly.

So this restaurant has the same menu as china grove family house. Not sure if they are affiliated or selling this business model. Food here was good, mostly. The atmosphere was ok. It's not as polished as Vhina Grove Family house. Service was mediocre honestly. Not terrible but not great either. I had the quarter chicken with tobasco honey with mashed potatoes/gravy, fried squash. Chicken was great. Potatoes were fine. Squash was ok. My wife had the chicken sandwich and though it was good she had preferred what I ordered. Kids chicken was great, older son loved it. The kids hamburger nah not good. Overcooked, no flavor pretty bad actually. My wife tried a few bites of it and yeah it looked bad. Youngest son with the burger could only eat a few bites. He liked the fries though. So overall it was ok but not memorable. Prices are ok but after tip definitely over $50 (since we all got water). We will try this restaurant again but will not be in a hurry to come back.

Absolutely delicious food! For an appetizer we ordered the Barbecue Chicken House Chips (my new guilty pleasure!). The potato chips were delicious by itself and the chicken, barbecue sauce and cheese took it to the next level of yumminess. My husband ordered The Famous Buttermilk Fried Half Chicken (no sauce), mac and cheese, fried okra, and a corn muffin, with Sweet tea to drink. The chicken was crispy, you could hear the 'crunch' when he bit into it. He enjoyed the okra, said it wasn't slimy (I'm not a fan of okra and I wouldn't try it). I got the Classic Beef Liver and Onions, collard greens, mac and cheese, and a corn muffin, with Blackberry iced tea (so freakin good!!!!) to drink. I got two pieces of liver under a generous mound of onions. The liver was tender and tasty, it didn't taste like iron at all. It's one of the best tasting liver I've had at a restaurant. (My husband doesn't like liver but he tried it, and said he could eat it if he was starving- that's a win for this liver!) The onions could have been grilled a little bit more but were seasoned well. The mac and cheese was gooey and had a crust on top, but it was average tasting- it wasn't a boxed mac and cheese, not the worst tasting, but not the best mac and cheese I've had. However the collard greens were fantastic! They were perfectly tender with great flavor. No vinegar taste, like other restaurant's collard greens, but had the perfect blend of spices that actually complemented the collard greens and let the collards flavor shine through. I enjoyed dipping the corn muffin into the juice of the collard greens. The corn muffin was sweet and soft and delicious! I could taste the honey in the corn muffin. Perfect texture throughout the corn muffin. I ordered a strawberry punch cake to-go (too full to eat it at the restaurant). When I opened the container at home, I could smell the strawberry, just like strawberry punch (oh so yummy!). The cake was moist and fresh, and reminded me of raspberry zingers. The service was great! Our server was courteous and friendly, and attentive to us. And the food came out fairly quickly. We spent about 40 minutes in the restaurant for lunch. The restaurant has a Takeout counter, and Daily Specials. The parking lot is huge, and the restaurant has plenty of seating for all those parking spaces, inside and outside seating. I will definitely be back again with my family when they visit me. There's such a variety of food to choose from I know that everyone will find something delicious to eat...even my vegetarian cousin!

The best grilled beef liver and onions!!! Nice portion, cut thin, seasoned just right. It doesn’t come with gravy…don’t ask…it’s thick like jello.. I didn’t like their rice or creamed potatoes. The macaroni is great..cabbage is good.. the meatloaf is the worse I’ve ever had.I have gone there multiple times. I’m sure they have other dishes that are good. I suggest you go and decide what you like…

Hometown cooking is excellent. Everything was great and will make it a goto when we're in the area. Prices are decent and the quality/quantity of food is what I'd expect. Cornbread great, desert great, grilled fish sandwich for lunch awesome. What a breath of fresh dining experience. We also bought dinner for later!

First time visiting a Johnny's Farmhouse Restaurant and it won't be the last. Visited for dinner on Friday evening. The place was busy but the staff handled it with ease. Our server was awesome, super knowledgeable about the varied menu options. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty.

places running down more each and every time I come in here. kids are working here in pajama pants and wearing headphones and on their cell phones instead of concentrating on people around them. I'm afraid what's going on in the kitchen. there's no management or no structure here whatsoever. I asked about the headphones on that guy and he's not supposed to be wearing them but he does what he wants to. which means nobody's watching this place or even cares even the owners. so I probably won't be coming back. came back January 19th to try it again. they have no silverware they ran out I guess they don't have nobody to wash it and they're passing out plastic silverware and packets at a restaurant. this is poor management of this restaurant it should hire people and train them unfortunately it's like this in most places nobody's training anybody. and my day you didn't do your job they fired you and got somebody who could do it . that's what they need to get back to train the person give him a chance if it doesn't work out let him go and find somebody that can do the job and cares what they're doing. very disappointed probably will not be back.everybody needs a follow after the Mexican restaurant they seemed to have enough people that are well-trained and know what they're doing
