Stopped by on Tuesday for a mexican special at this chop house. Waiter messed up our drink order and over charged us. Drinks took forever to show up and then were not correct. Spent $17 on a carne asada plate. Came with small portions of beans and rice on the side and a piece of carne asada. The food was good but the portions were very small for almost $20. Also got a cup of soup for $4. Usually a cup of soup is maybe 6-8 oz. This one looked like it was 4 oz. It was tortilla soup but mostly tasted like a tomato soup and the tortillas strips were stale. Ended up being $80 after tip for a plate of food, a little soup and some drinks. Had the food quality or value been a little better and had the drink service been correct I'd consider giving them 3 stars but overall it was not a great experience. I came by once before just for chips salsa and guacamole with some drinks and that time was an alot better deal and my drinks were correct and tasted better. There's room for improvement and consistency was lacking.

Small batch feel in this amazing steak house. Excellent service and such a cozy place. Food was top notch and really felt upscale. I'm planning to come back Friday or Saturday for their prime rib. Alex the server was a great guide, best service. We went for our anniversary and they treated us really, really well. It was very special.

Took a first date there. Neither of us had been before. Had a reservation, and we seated promptly. Food was prepared as ordered, and the atmosphere was cozy. We closed the place down, 1.5 hours after closing. The bartender had no problem with us just enjoying coffee and talking. I would definitely recommend and will return.

Having lived in Clayton for 16 years, I can confidently say that Moresi's Chophouse holds a special place in our historic, beautiful and romantic town. The owner, Ed, truly knows how to run a business and has become a friend over the years. Every dining experience at Moresi's Chophouse has been exceptional. The ambiance rivals that of a fine dining establishment, making it perfect for a special night out or a casual dinner with friends. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always ensuring we have everything we need. Ed often stops by our table, adding a personal touch to our visits. For those looking to elevate their dining experience, I highly recommend sitting out on the deck during our summer concerts in the park. The view of Mount Diablo is breathtaking and adds a romantic touch to your meal. Moresi's Chophouse is a fantastic spot for anyone seeking a high-quality meal in a cozy, charming, and delightful setting.

The food was great, everything was delicious. The service was good; the restaurant itself is beautiful, and of course the whole town of Clayton is gorgeously picturesque. One thing that unpleasantly surprised me was that we came to celebrate my birthday, and no one offered a piece of cake with a candle like they usually do in restaurants. I mean, they asked if we wanted to order a dessert, and I said we were full assuming they will bring this birthday cake anyways and we don’t want anything extra, and they were like, okay happy birthday drive safe. I know it’s a little thing but I’m a single mom of an almost one year old and I don’t go out that often, I wanted to have a little celebration, and it’s the only place I’ve been to in the US that won’t do that. We went to La Veranda for my bday last year and they did make this effort to mark the special occasion, so I guess it’s not part of local traditions or something.

The food was excellent. The only negative experience was being told by the hostess that we had until 7:30pm to eat because they had another reservation. I've never been told anything like that before but it never ended up being an issue.

Took my partner out to congratulate then for their new job! Fast seating, service and the serving of the food. I believe withing 15 mins of ordering we got our food and drinks. The atmosphere was so nice and the sky was so pretty. Overall the waitress was amazing and super fun. Would 100% come again!

Pricey but not worth it. The 16 oz ribeye is ridiculously pricey @$61. Plating needs a lot of improvement. Staff are friendly though. But definitely not going back. I’d rather have fine dining @ Fleming’s or Ruth’s Chris Steak House
