Chophouse 101

Not sure how to overall rate this place. I can't really say much about the atmosphere because me and my party was seat out of view of the main dining room as well as anyone else who looked like us.... Our actually waitress was nice at least. The food was either overly sauced and lacked seasonings, or it was over cooked, but was all bad.

My family and I were coming into Charlotte to see a show and decided to find a steakhouse in Kannapolis. I looked on Google Maps and found Chophouse 101 with a high 4-Star rating. I am very particular about a steak, especially a Porterhouse. So I took my family in. Our waitress Cameron was incredible. She was on top of things. But let's get back to the steak. I ordered it medium and it was perfect! It wasn't medium-rare, it wasn't medium-well, it was spot on! To tell you the truth, I can't remember what my Step-son and Wife ordered because I was way to involved with my steak. Paired with Bourbon and a nice Porter beer, I was in my own world of bliss. I did swipe the Onion Rings off my Step-son's plate he didn't eat. They were real good too! If want a good steak..... this is the place! The price was moderate, but sooooo well worth it! I will be coming here again. Earlier I said Google had Chophouse 101 rated at a high 4-Star..... Should be a HIGH-5!!

Pros: Reasonably priced menu Casual elegance Walk up bar Fast seating and service Easy parking (it was not a game day) Cute location downtown walkable area Cons: I didn't care much for my teriyaki salmon because I expected a sauce that was a tad thicker sticker and slightly sweet. Mine was on the salty side as if too much soy sauce was used. My shrimp was fried a bit hard and tasted like the oil was starting to get scorched. I imagine parking is difficult when there's a game at the stadium. There might also be a wait to get seated. Still giving a nice score because my husband food was great. I just tried something different than I normally would so I didn’t care for it much. You have to get the twisted ribs. It worth a visit just for the ribs, and that whipped cinnamon butter that they serve with the bread. I truly enjoyed this restaurant. Nothing pretentious. Just a classic menu with something for everyone. Chicken beef fish pasta wings burgers etc. Our waitress Zoey was friendly, gave recommendations and attentive service.

Our Server Kaley was absolutely amazing. The T-Bone was cooked perfectly & the Wine List has exactly what you're looking for. An experience you will truly enjoy. The atmosphere is so very pleasing.

Top notch establishment with great food. Not inexpensive, but we'll worth it. This slightly hidden gem has a modern decor and is suitable for both dress-up and professionally casual. You will enjoy.

This restaurant is really big & the service is good. The steak could’ve been a little more seasoned but it was cooked to my liking. The Caesar salad was really good, as well as the mac & cheese…I came for a 2nd visit & tried the potato skins. They were different than what I expected but nonetheless, they were pretty good.

First time there on birthday. Mediocre service. Food order came out incorrect, too hungry by that time to wait for recook. Kitchen staff couldn't understand what I was saying when trying to explain my food was incorrect. That should tell you a lot. Supposed to be 5 star restaurant according to the price of my bill. Charged me 1.00 for a thimble of hot sauce for my nachos. Waitress never seen, half the meal eaten with empty glass for myself and wife. Again, supposed to be top tier place. Won't be back for a long time if ever. Had birthday dinner mentioned in reservation. No mention of it when arriving or course of dinner from staff.

The area is nice where the restaurant is located the food was good, I’ve had better tasting fish at other restaurants, the bread was delicious, the fries are good, my wife liked her steak so that was a plus because she is very picky about her food and whatever my daughter had she said was very delicious! The service was decent, the atmosphere was fun and energetic. We will be going back to eat to try some other things.

The area is nice where the restaurant is located the food was good, I’ve had better tasting fish at other restaurants, the bread was delicious, the fries are good, my wife liked her steak so that was a plus because she is very picky about her food and whatever my daughter had she said was very delicious!
