This restaurant is a must to try for dinner! The place offered a fun yet tasteful menu making things as simple as a salad creative and well enjoyed. I went with a friend for dinner and our experience at The Place was great. Our server was knowledgeable on the menu and had great suggestions for meatless options. Our food and drinks all came out timely, and the restaurant seemed properly staffed — making it simple to get extra napkins or a refill quickly without having to search for servers. I would highly recommend their poached pear salad! It was light, refreshing, and a great portion for the price. I will absolutely be back soon to try more from the menu!

The Place, is one of buffalos older bar/pub restaurants. The character of the restaurant, gives off the feeling that everyone knows your name. The bar area is nice and comfortable. You also have the option to dine outside on the patio or heated porch. Service was top notch and the food was decent.

Loved my first time here! Had the French Onion which had good cheese ratio, nice bread and sweet onions. Beef on Weck was what I call “Buffalo slightly above average” . It was solid but not as rare as I like, however the fries were pretty amazing! Fresh cut double fry! I will be back!

Stopped by after a trip to the Botanical Gardens (also great!). I got the tuna melt with chips and the rye bread was buttered and crispy to perfection! My boyfriend got the steak sandwich and upgraded to the fried potatoes and pepper relish and RAVED about it. The server was attentive, vibes were great on a cold day. Will definitely go back.

One of the best neighborhood bars in Buffalo. It's been around forever, and as good (if not better) than when our parents used to take us there. Bartenders are exceptional.

The Place is one of my favorite restaurants in Buffalo! I’ve come here many times for lunch, dinner, drinks and have always been impressed by the quality of food - until today. First time getting takeout and I was thoroughly disappointed. In the past, I’ve ordered and thoroughly enjoyed their fish fries, particularly the gluten free option they had. This time around was a different experience. The beer battered fish fry was decent, but I also ordered a white wine fish fry, a gluten free fish fry, and the spaghetti squash entree. The most underwhelming was the spaghetti squash - majorly overpriced for a tiny portion that also leaked through the container. The white wine fish itself was tasty, though I was expecting something else for the gluten free fish fry. Additionally, they did not provide all the sides that were supposed to come with it - they just gave us fries, no coleslaw or macaroni salad. The fries were overly salted with chunks of salt at the bottom (see photo). Overall, very disappointed in the quality of their takeout. I’m sad that one of my favorite restaurants has let me down on what is supposed to be a Buffalo classic.

First time at The Place and loved everything about it. It’s a long established restaurant with a neighborhood diner/pub vibe. The staff were friendly and diligent, the food was very well prepared—I had the Reuben and was very pleased. Probably one of the best Reuben’s I’ve had in a few years and as someone who tends to spot and order corned beef on a menu, I’ve had a few. Normally I wouldn’t mention fries but their kitchen rocks some deliciously crispy / seasoned fries. My wife had the chicken salad croissant and loved it, and she doesn’t say that often. Definitely recommend this place, we’ll be back. One final note, they say location is everything and this place is nestled in a gorgeous spot not far off Elmwood Ave with several local stores we walked to and perused after eating. Enjoy!

My son and I had a terrific lunch. All the food was fresh and the portions were quite large. I very much enjoyed the onion soup and chicken Caesar salad.
