A very good steak house in NJ. The decor is great, the food was great. Our was waiter was fine but not great. NYC prices, but the quality of the food supports it. Cowboy ribeye was delicious, couldn't finish the 10 layer chocolate cake cause I was so full. The place is definitely suited to large tables and crowds, which makes sense, and the whole restaurant is loud and lively and fun (at least at dinner time). Solid experience, worth a trip.

My wife and I had dinner here in early January around 7:15 pm. We were stunned that on a Tuesday night the place was packed. We soon discovered why. The ambiance here is nice, particularly in the Library room where we managed to get a table near the windows. Although there are plenty of good choices if you want steak, the menu also has lots of other dishes. This is one of the nicest menus I've seen in a steakhouse, or for that matter in any restaurant. There is a large wine list, and we were pleasantly surprised not only to find a bottle of our favorite Sancerre, but also at a very reasonable price. The complimentary bread was hot and delicious. The chilled shrimp and crab cake appetizers were wonderful. The salad we ordered was very tasty and large enough for us to share. The Chilean sea bass that we each ordered for dinner was amazing. The side order of spinach could have easily fed four people, and we took some of it home. The chocolate cake for dessert was definitely the largest slice we have ever received in any restaurant. It was absolutely delicious, and was nice to have with the double espresso and mint tea we ordered. Kudos to our server Athena, who regularly checked on us and made sure all the courses were spaced just right. She was very friendly and helpful, as were the rest of the staff who regularly filled our water glasses without having to be asked. Although the restaurant was very busy, acoustics were excellent so it wasn't noisy at all. My wife and I enjoyed a very relaxing and romantic dinner. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but we definitely felt we got good value for our money. Portions are large, and we wound up taking part of our dinner home. We are adding this to our list of favorite restaurants and plan to start coming regularly. Highly recommend this place.

My husband and I come here every year for our anniversary. Our server this time around was just amazing. Friendly, personable & attentive! Karolyn was our favorite server at Rails thus far. We spent most of the time talking about our fur babies 😆I loved her personable demeanor and genuine disposition. She made dining at Rails a wonderful experience 🩷we can’t wait to eat the espresso cheesecake when we get home! She also recommended the tiramisu martini and it was out of this world 🤤I hope Karolyn is there next year so we can get her again!

Forgot how nice of a venue Rails is...it is really beautiful! Came here to celebrate 30+ years married and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Had oyster (east and west coast) appetizer and octopus with delicious garbanzo beans in a really tasty sauce!! Then had a NY strip and skirt steak... both cooked perfectly for medium rare. Had a side of creamed spinach which could've been cooked a little more...and very creamy. Next time I think I will get oil and garlic spinach instead..just a preference. Shout out to our waitress, Danielle,...very attentive and gave us a piece of cake on the house to take home and celebrate our anniversary...Also invited us to the speakeasy...but c'mon it's only MONDAY🤣🤣🤣 Saw.some people enjoying mac and cheese as an appetizer...looked good, but that would have been too much for us!! No starches ordered, but they looked good.

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Rails Steakhouse. The atmosphere and service are pretty nice. We ordered Escargot de Bourgogne and beef skewers...it was strong, appetizing start-up, as a main dish T-bone steak and turkey dinner. Steak was so flavorful and juicy 👌. Warm chocolate cake was delicious, not too sweet. If you need to spend your special day in a special environment, you are at the right place. Rails Steakhouse is highly recommended 👌 👍

Rails is easily our go-to steakhouse that is close to home and offers beautiful steaks! I love how cozy and warm the place is, uniquely decorated with tons of wood work and a nice "fireplace" area, it gives you a cabin-feel. Perfect for any occasion but most especially for a winter date night. As expected, the steaks here are delicious and cooked perfectly to our liking. We recently ordered creamed spinach to go with our porterhouse for two and the combo was amazing. Their Rock shrimp special is also a must with perfectly cooked shrimp and a nice spicy sauce. I remember ordering truffle fries, tuna tartar, mac n cheese and a couple more things in the past and they have always been above average (to excellent)and delicious. There are a lot of things to appreciate about Rails - good food, great ambiance, nice service and just close to home so we dont have to drive too far especially during ugly weather conditions. Definitely recommend this place.

Went for my anniversary dinner. The place was so beautiful. The food was delicious. The service was amazing. They even gave us a free dessert (to go because we were so full we could not eat it there) for our anniversary. I would love to go back again!

Was there for a baby shower this time. Food is always amazing! We were seated by the kitchen viewing windows. We had appetizers of pizza, risotto, sausage and potatoes, and salad. For the main I got the 8oz filet mignon medium rare. Cooked to perfection, but I'm not a fan of chunky finishing salt or salt in general. It came with veggies and mashed potatoes. Dessert was the MTBs shower cake and butter cake with berries, which I thought was too dense. Been there a few times for dinner and other events and have always enjoyed it. Very open and modern rustic. Check out the speak easy downstairs if you're looking for more cozy casual atmosphere or the second floor outside bar area if the weather is nice. If you feel like fine dining at home... you can order for take out!
