One of the best places I have been to recently in Grand Rapids. The atmosphere is chic, and the service is incredible! The food was all very unique yet well balanced and delicious. This place is not huge, so if you want to go, I would highly recommend making a reservation, howeverwere were ableto sit at the bar without one, so you might be able to get a spot if you come early. It is definitely on the pricy side, so if you are looking for an average mid-west restaurant, this is probably not the perfect place; However, if you enjoy somewhat eclectic yet delicious food and don'tmind payinga littleextra for it, I highly recommend this place.

The perfect balance of sweet and strong, it's a true masterpiece. The rest of their cocktail menu is just as impressive, and their food is top-notch too. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even better. Scholar is a gem in Grand Rapids, and I can't recommend it enough!

My wife and I traveled to Grand Rapids on a whim for a short getaway and stopped into Scholar twice in our short stay! The drinks are incredible and the food is equally tasty and magnificent. Evening drinks were elegant, delicious, and artfully crafted with colorful and creative garnishes. Service was smart, quick, and communicative. We highly suggest sitting at the bar as the bar staff were friendly, fun, and gave great suggestions for what to eat and drink inside as well as in the area. The next morning, by their own recommendation, we came back for brunch which blew us away completely. My wife had the stuffed french toast and I had the steak Benedict. Both were fantastic and perfectly made. Needless to say, we will be back again and hope others experience this incredible restaurant!

It's like a magical French fry and potato chip had a magical baby... The Fry-chip. Must have! Cocktails delicious too...nice change of pace with their throw back menu. Would eat here again!!!!!!
