I was visiting town and a friend suggested we try this steakhouse, which bills itself as Boston's oldest. It sure lives up to that! Looking at the furniture and decor I felt like I was transported back to the 70's. At the entrance they have signed pictures of "famous " celebrities who've visited. I noticed the picture of Ed Asnor first, the dead has been actor. The vibe is definitely an older crowd. At first, I thought I was going to get a bingo card with the menu. To be fair, after being seated we noticed some younger couples. My friend ordered the New York strip and said it was fatty. My steak tips were average, which isn't good considering it's a steakhouse. On the positive side, our server was very friendly. It definitely seems like a place where everybody knows your name. I would consider coming back to the bar, playing Keno, and swapping stories with some of the regulars.

Frank's Steak House is an iconic restaurant within the Cambridge area, with spacious seating for private events and for special occasions. We hosted a birthday party for my father's 50th birthday, and we were not disappointed. The staff were very attentive to our orders, made sure everything was set and ready for the celebration, and helped move along any issues that arose. We tried the steak as well as a few appetizers. The appetizers were really good, standard appetizers you'd see at other locations but the quality here was much better. The steak was the highlight though. It came out on a steel plate, which kept it warm enough while we sliced it, and allowed it to reach the optimal cook we decided on. The steak was perfect on its own, though was elevated with a few sides that also arrived with it. Overall, a wonderful experience and would definitely come back again.

The steak tips were so good and flavorfully marinated with BBQ sauce. The prime rib was so tender, and the beef flavor was really good along w the subtle sauce. The bread and the mozzarella garlic bread were both fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. So overall the food was so good!! Perhaps a preference issue: The french onion soup had good flavor but I didn't like the rubbery cheese on top. My boyfriend liked the cheesecake but I thought the cheese flavor was too strong.

Got the filet mignon 9oz. It was good, not great. Asked for Med. rare but got more medium/well done. They char the outside when cooking. Rice pilaf was inedible. Old fashioned drink was not good. Probably wouldn’t be back.

The food here was delicious. I got the prime rib with a salad and onion soup for sides. The onion soup is the best. A lot of gooey cheese and a lot of onions. I would go back for the soup alone. I got apple crisp for dessert which I highly recommend during this fall season. It was very busy when we were there on a Sunday night.

When my husband and I tried eating here for the first time about a year ago, the steak was overcooked and flavorless. It was definitely not worth the price. The waitress was also incredibly rude and dismissive. We went today for a second time to order dessert for take out and the host acted annoyed and almost angry at us. The dessert was not particularly good. The staff are not welcoming or professional at all. I always see many people inside, but after two bad experiences I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I even started to wonder if it is Frank's goal to alienate younger patrons as the clientele are all very old despite living in a young city (husband and I are 24/23. The best thing about this location is that the building itself is clean and nice.

Every time I have been to Frank’s the food has been amazing. Steaks are always cooked to perfection and the service is on point. Last time I was there I tried the lamb which was delicious. My friend got the prime rib which he enjoyed and it looked mouth watering. Don’t pass up on Frank’s.

I loved it. The early bird special was just what we wanted. My partner had the chicken Supreme, which ended up being 2 meals. My prime rib was very good. I will return.
