Customer Review Summary
Mexico Steak House offers very good food at decent prices with great service. Many reviewers consider it a hidden gem with delicious homemade salsas and a clean environment. The red posole received mixed reviews; while the pork was tender, the broth lacked flavor. The steak tampiqueño was praised for its juiciness and fresh ingredients but was criticized for being too thick to eat easily. The pork taco dinner was highly recommended for its generous stuffing and flavor, with no negative feedback. Overall, the service stood out as exceptional, with attentive and professional staff. Some customers noted a decline in quality over time, particularly for certain dishes like nachos, which now lack essential ingredients. Despite a few criticisms, many patrons expressed a desire to return and try other menu items. Overall, Mexico Steak House is recommended for its quality food, service, and authentic dishes.

So glad I tried this hidden gem!!! Ive always been curious about this place bc it's kind of in an odd location not near any other restaurants on a busy street. We came on a Tuesday evening. We were the only ones there initially, we were seated immediately and served right away with green salsa red salsa tostito chips and water. The salsas were delicious and definitely tasted homemade!! We ordered the red posole large, steak tampiqueño which came with rice, beans, avocado, salad, cheese enchilada, and tortillas, and also the taco dinner which comes with 3 tacos (ordered red pork), rice and beans, no drinks just water. Red Posole $13 Pro: -pork was super tender and delicious -the garnish of white cabbage, white onion and limes were fresh -tortillas looked and tasted handmade! Not sure if they are Con: -the broth wasn't as flavorful as I thought it seemed a bit watered down and didn't have a kick to it I did add the red salsa and it was better Would not order it again though. Steak Tampiqueño $21 Pros: -fresh tortillas -fluffy rice -fresh avocado slices -steak was juicy and tender Cons: -the cheese they melt onto the steak was a little heavy for me, the texture wasn't great gooey like putty/glue but flavor wise it was fine -the rice was fluffy but lacked a bit of flavor, it was good but not the best -the steak was a thick cut so it was difficult to eat in the tortilla like a taco I had to cut into tiny bite size pieces, it's not like your typical skirt steak served in tacos that's thinly sliced, this was half an inch thick piece of steak so I would not order again bc of the thickness. If you don't mind a thick steak then try it, flavor wise it was good. 3 Pork Taco dinner $15 Pros: -they stuff them very well with meat and garnish like tomatoes, cheese, lettuce -the red pork was very tender and flavorful!! -fresh tortillas, probably handmade No cons for this one, would order this taco dinner again!!😋 My favorite part was the service, the place is very clean, the waitress was quick about clearing tables and wiping them clean. Our specific waitress was super professional and provided excellent service!!! She anticipated our needs before we even got a chance to ask and she gave us extra napkins, a pitcher of water, checked on us twice to see if we needed anything like more salsa etc. She provided us with small bowls to share the large posole without us having to ask. She was on it with everything!!! Now that's quality service!!! 5/5 stars ⭐ Overall, the food was good just the rice and posole broth lacking some flavor but the salsa made up for it and the service was great! I will be returning to try their burritos, stuffed cheese peppers, and some dessert. Definitely give this place a try!

I came here to grab a bite while I was waiting for my car's dash cam installation to be completed across the street. Best decision I could have made. The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. I'll be back again. Highly recommended 👌🏾

10/10!!! Everything is fantastic quality from the chips & salsa, to the steak and service! I’ve been going here for decades, and to this day, it never disappoints. Steak-lovers must try! I would recommend the Carne A La Tampiquena

I will say their chips and salsa are very tasty, as is their jamaica, but overall the food isn’t as good as it used to be. We used to love the special nachos which had chorizo, melty cheese, sour cream, pickled jalapeños and a tomato salsa. Now there’s no chorizo or any other kind of meat, so I don’t know why they cost $15. Also, I LOVE sour cream and cheese, but there was so much that I scraped much of it off. Maybe that’s supposed to make up for the missing chorizo? Everything else was pretty bland and lacked seasoning, including the Mexican rice, refried beans and sadly the skirt steak, too, which was the reason we went. Overall, the meal was disappointing and we won’t be returning. It’s unfortunate because the owners and servers are super nice, the restaurant is clean and welcoming and I’d love to give them our business. Sorry, Tina 🤷🏼♀️
