Restaurant week in Chicago! Such a great time to explore what the city has to offer. This year, my best friend was celebrating his 34th birthday and we agreed on Mastro’s for dinner. We couldn’t decide on a bottle so we all ordered different drinks to toast with. I started with a glass of Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay and later a glass of Riesling. 🥂after we said cheers, we ordered appetizers and since it was restaurant week, there was a special menu that offered a three course meal with included a soup or salad, main course and dessert. Very price efficient! I had a delicious French onion soup that was partnered with a toasted Parmesan crisp that added texture and crunch to the savory flavor of the onions. My main was a New Zealand king salmon they enhanced with a 1/2 lemon and black olives which was enjoyable. Along with several side options we all ordered for the table. Garlic mushroom gnocchi and Brussel sprouts and lobster Mac and cheese with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes all decorated my plate. For dessert I had the cheesecake with mixed berries but the start of the night was the warm butter cake. We finished it so fast I didn’t get a chance to take a picture. It was impeccable! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

June was our server and she was absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend hasn’t stopped talking about the bacon steak he had as an app and my Japanese wagyu was so tender and delicious. The butter cake is to die for. The tuna sushi was one of the best I’ve had. The only item I didn’t enjoy was the lobster bisque. It was lukewarm. All in all big portions and delicious.

5 stars all the way! Ross was our attendant. He was absolutely fabulous. He made sure all of our needs were met. The staff were all fabulous. The food was mouth-watering and delicious. This restaurant is my number one top pick. From the appetizer to the main course, everything was perfect. The Dream Berry Martini was the best cocktail I have ever had. This is THE best of the best fine dining experiences. Highly recommend. The portion sizes were more than appropriate. The lobster mashed potatoes, and lemon pepper chicken were premiere. The Butter Cake was heavenly. Very delectable! I will be back! Make sure to ask for Ross. He is the best!

The food was better than I expected. I participated in the restaurant week three-course meal, but I was disappointed to find that the entrée did not come with a side dish. Since I was there celebrating a birthday, we all ordered a side to share. The sides feed around 3-4 people which is nice. The butter cake was very sweet, too sweet for my liking. Overall, I would rate the meal a 3.5 out of 5. The cocktail menu has an abundance of options. The tiki cocktail was delicious! I would go back just for that. If you plan to visit this place, expect to spend at least $150 minimum. If you're with a group, keep in mind that they do not split the bill, so it's best to bring cash—about $200-$300 to be on the safe side. As for the service, I would rate it a solid 3.5 out of 5.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! From the moment you arrive at the restaurant and take the valet parking service it was exceptional, the valet staff was incredibly kind to my husband when taking his vehicle and attentive when opening the door for me. Once inside the restaurant it was a magical night with an exceptional dining experience with incredible flavors, great service and a warm and elegant atmosphere. All the staff were very attentive and took care of us at all times. The atmosphere was very cozy and the live music was attractive. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I hope to return soon!

This place is phenomenal. It's my first time here and I will go back over and over again. It's an expensive place but it's well worth it. Everything is quality and I will revisit with everyone I know. We got the dry aged steak medium rare and they give you a hot plate in case you want to cook it a little bit more. I wish they had a seafood tower. They have one on their menu but it doesn't include anything they just say make something up. It would be nice if they had one to make it easier for people who can't make decisions.

Make reservations. It just speeds up the process so you're not watching people get seated consistently before you. The food is amazing but the ambiance and seating was average. Tables are ridiculously close to each other. I could smell the cigarette smoke reeking off the guy seated at the table next to me. He literally would brush against me every time he got up. The tables are that close. But the food is good. I likely would want to sit at the bar next time over being so close to so many people in the main dining area.

Mastro's is a beautiful restaurant in the heart of downtown Chicago. It was my first time dining at this restaurant, and I was treated for dinner on Christmas by my son and his girlfriend. My entree was the roasted chicken, sautéed spinach, mac and cheese, and mushrooms. I wasn't impressed with the taste of my meal nor the presentation, which it lacked. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful, and the employees were very professional, but this pricey meal lacked flavor. Actually, the spinach had an excessive amount of something that made it very salty. The bread basket had a variety of bread that was delicious, so I was not totally disappointed.
