I had been to Mable’s once before about a year ago and really enjoyed myself, but my latest experience left me deeply concerned for the future of this neighborhood staple. It took no less than 45 minutes for us to receive our first round of drinks for the evening. Our original waiter took our drink order and then just never came back, leaving us in the care of the manager for the rest of the night. The switch was never acknowledged. As warm and friendly as the manager was, we barely ever saw her and she was clearly in way over her head. After trying to get a hold of *anyone* to help take care of us, we finally got to put our food in roughly 80-90 min after we first sat down - of course by that point the restaurant was out of two of the dishes that people at our table had wanted to order. To rub salt in the wound, the manager repeatedly bragged about how she had been recently promoted and about her great manager skills. And despite the huge delays and total lack of service, nothing - not even a single drink or an appetizer - was taken off the final bill. The food was fine once it finally came - but it was not worth the wait or the frustration. Can’t say I plan on coming back here again until I hear that things have turned around. Utterly disappointed and borderline angry about what’s happened to this place.

Delicious food and great ambiance. We had the meatballs, mushroom crostini, Brussels, prime rib, filet, and delmonico ribeye. Everything was awesome! 10/10.

Definitely a must visit in Bucktown. Everything was spot on: service, food, and vibes. Tim the bartender made a good espresso martini and a chocolate martini that were both really good. He recommend we try the meatballs and they were so phenomenal we ordered another round. We also had the octopus, oysters, and parmesan fries and all of those were fresh. The chef even came out and greeted us as well. Don’t miss out check it out.

Food and service here is amazing. Atmosphere is classy without being pretentious, the coziness reminded me of being on vacation at restaurants in small towns growing up. The meatballs here have been on Good Morning America, they are excellent. Mac and cheese was perfect too. Elevated comfort foods without trying too hard.

Food was great, service was great; however, the restaurant itself was small- not much room to move around. Prime rib was the Thursday night special.

Everything I’ve tried here is amazing! The Chicken Calabrese is my favorite (It’s a little pricey but worth it) the Cheesesteak and Shrimp Scampi are also very good! Been living in Chicago for about ten years and Mable’s is definitley on the top of my list

Was told to get the mac and cheese and would reiterate that to anyone else going. Pass on the scampi but recommend everything else!

A Chicago favorite. Amazing service: the staff makes you feel like you’re family immediately and are so helpful with picking out the best items on the menu. Everything we ate was incredible, flavorful, and interesting. Can’t wait to be back! I’m always surprised how few people know about this restaurant. Do not miss: the eggplant caprese, any seafood on the menu
