It was my first time visiting and it came highly recommended, I loved it! I ordered the turkey club (with fries) it was delish! The staff was so nice and very welcoming. I was sat by the window which was such a delight to people watch as I ate, can't wait to come back :)

Gibsons Steakhouse on Rush is a Chicago classic that never fails to impress! The steaks are perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and always of the highest quality, while the sides and desserts are equally outstanding. Don’t miss their signature “piece of cake” for dessert—it’s as impressive as it is delicious! The atmosphere is lively and elevated by live piano music in the evenings, adding a touch of elegance to the experience. We’ve visited Gibsons several times—on regular days, special occasions, and even once for New Year’s Eve—and the exceptional service never fails. With its outstanding food, welcoming ambiance, and impeccable service, Gibsons is a must-visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a truly memorable dining experience in Chicago!

First time visiting and it definitely won’t be the last. The staff is incredibly attentive and kind and the food was superb. Took my mom and she was super impressed (which isn’t easy to do). We had the clam chowder and fish sandwiches for lunch and took dessert to go. Thank you Gibson’s!

Definitely hyped for a reason! This is a classic Chicago steakhouse and the experience matched the reputation. We had a reservation but weren’t seated until 30 minutes after our rez time, the hostess stand communicated that with us from the start which was fine. We then received a complimentary shrimp cocktail for the wait which was a nice touch! The prime rib was Good although a bit fatty, but it’s one of the better priced prime rib options in the city for an upscale steakhouse. Our meals came with choice of soup or salad and the homemade blue cheese dressing was fantastic. The Brussel sprouts were delicious and extra crispy, which I like, but my dining companion said they were too crispy for their taste. The dessert was gargantuan, so be prepared. We had the chocolate cake split between two, and we both took a lot of it home with us as leftovers. Service was a bit rushed, possibly because of the wait or because it was near the end of the night. While still satisfactory, there could’ve been a better service experience when going through the menu and when ordering. Overall, this was a great spot that I’m glad I finally visited. The ideal dark and classic steakhouse ambiance.

Not the Gibsons I remember. The best thing about the meal was the wedge salad. That was done well. My steak was not as I asked, medium well, it was well. The baked potato was horrid. I sent that back and got another of the same. It wasn't even hot. The potato was WAY over done, dry and hard like it had still been baking from the day before. Others at the table seemed satisfied with what they were having (they didn't screw up the salmon!). Will think twice about a return visit.

Happy, jolly vibe of a restaurant with great service. We ordered W.R. Chicago cut and NY Strip. While the steak was beautifully cooked medium rare, I personally didn't enjoy excessive charring. I'm sure some people like it, but the charring overwhelmed the taste of meat for me.

Based on just my experience but not necessarily the entire restaurant. It was very crowded and there was not much space between tables. Our opinion at the table was that the asparagus wasn't any good but good gesture they took it off the bill. The overall experience was good.

Do you like steak, great service, and a great atmosphere? If you said yes to all 3, you will LOVE Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse. Ask for Art, he knows his food, and how to serve it. I loved my bone-in fillet. It was a great balance of lean meat with the flavor added with the bone in. The table all voted it the best steakhouse in the US! Save room for dessert! The turtle pie is to die for!
