Carson's Ribs Prime Steaks & Famous Barbecue Chicago

My husband and I had dinner here last month for our anniversary and it was By Far the best dining experience ever. Late reservation 10:00.. They closed at 11 I asked for a nice view. We had dinner in an empty restaurant overlooking the River. They treated us like royalty. A surprise dessert, special menu, best seats in the house, the cornbread is to die for. Everything was amazing and Affordable!! My husband gave an extra tip just because we were so pleased. One thousand hand claps of praise. My memories are all videos, I would love to post

This place is amazing. I know it claims best ribs in Chicago. They are good, but being from Texas, I have to disagree. The twice baked potato was amazing, and the augratin potatoes were devine. Great wine selection, too. The cornbread loaf is very delicious. I bet it's Jiffy. 😋

Amazing staff, amazing ribs and salads too. My wife had the BBQ chicken I had the ribs, and it was very good food!! They even had “Happy Anniversary” menus ready for us! Great place for a great meal.

I took my wife for her birthday , and we loved it, Our server Blake was phenomenal and gave us above and beyond service . Loved his recommendations and definitely will be back. The full rack of ribs were huge and delicious and the half chicken was also amazing ! Cornbread , broccoli steamed, and Greek potatoes were al great sides too. Blake the server brought out a piece of brownie with ice cream so I could sing happy bday HIGHLY RECOMMEND , Money well spent

I celebrated my anniversary at Carson's. I tried them in Wisconsin and had to go back in Chicago. For our appetizer we had the Chargrilled Mediterranean Wings. They were amazing! They came our hot and fresh. For our meals, we both ordered the BBQ Combo(1/2 slab ribs, charcrusted pork chop, cole slaw, greek potatoes). It was a huge portion. Everything was good, but the ribs were really cold on both of our plates. We didn't complain. The server was amazing and so was the staff who cleaned off the tables. They were attentive and quick. We also enjoyed a hibiscus margarita and a strawberry margarita. Both were great! The next time I go back I'll leave off the ribs and just get the charcrusted pork chop. Oh yeah, we used Spothero and parked in the garage diagonal to the restaurant.

The food at the Downtown Chicago location lives up to the Carson’s name. Very good ribs and chicken. Broccoli, bread and desserts taste good, very good. The customer service is good as well. I like this place and will become a regular.

American BBQ restaurant located near Navy Pier. We tried brisket and ribs, the ribs were really good, brisket is moist but we'd prefer to have sauce on the side. The combo portion is well priced for the price. Also tried chargrilled shrimp but found the shrimp lacking freshness. Didn't know things could go so wrong when we asked to heat up the shrimp dish: the dish came back with no sauce, only bare veggies and shrimp! We asked to heat up as there was garlic oil sauce to dip our bread. We explained to the waiter who then came back again with a "sauce" which we later realized it's some kind of vinaigrette 🤢 Overall service and food was good but this incident just show how bad the service is.

This was a special occasion to celebrate my mom birthday after the passing of her son, my only sibling a few weeks ago. We wanted to have a small gathering since my daughter was in town from NY. My mom decided to go to Carson’s Ribs, I have been to Carson’s Ribs many years ago many times when they were in Edgewater and downtown near LaSalle many years ago. They are now located in a beautiful spot near the river downtown Chicago . This restaurant location is so beautiful, on the inside it’s cozy and elegant. The back of the restaurant is called the River Room the windows open and you have views of the Chicago River, Sit and dine with family with white tablecloths and dim lighting such a beautiful spot. I sopke to the manger Nancy to set up our reservations and she made sure we had the river room after explaining the circumstances and I wanted it the be a nice special celebration for my mom. Our waiter Dan was absolutely amazing he was funny and on point with our orders and his service! He made sure we had everything we needed and even brought out the cake we brought with extra plates and forks, so we could sing happy birthday. The food was absolutely delicious we had a variety of dishes. The garden salad was the greatest especially the homemade Croutons and flavorful Italian dressing really made my the salad robust taste, so good! We ordered the slab of ribs with twice baked potatoes and au gratin potatoes. Half Greek chicken which was tender with delicious lemon and herbs delicious with Greek potato es. Mediterranean Shrimp And Dejonene Shrimp or nice jumbo size they were very delicious as well. Beef brisket sandwich was tender and delicious too! All our food was delicious and we really enjoyed everything from the beautiful atmosphere, the service and the food. The manager of evening came to check on us several times throughout the evening to see how we were doing and if we needed anything that was very nice to have him do that. It was a perfect night for a special occasion during this difficult time in our family. Thank you everyone at Carons for a night to remember especially Dan for being such a delightful waiter!
