Impressive Stuff
I wanted to give the restaurant a 4 star but Jenna was so kind that I feel obliged to give a 5 star. We were here for a dinner during the restaurant week. It was Sunday dinner time, not o lot of folks there. Yet service was really slow. We got our drinks comped and a complimentary starter. That was really nice. The food itself was quite ordinary. I think the restaurant has more interesting food to offer but what’s included in the restaurant week menu were not particularly exciting, except for the Neptune pillows, which I totally recommend. The flan was really good as well! We did like the vibe and setting a lot. Will likely come back at another time when it’s more buzzing and order something more interesting from the regular menu.

Beautiful restaurant. The service was very nice. I loved the food. I tried the pillows for entry, and I don't remember the full name, but they were delicious. I also had the crab soup, which was perfect for the cold weather. For the main course, I had the burger, and my wife ordered the lobster roll. It was perfectly cooked. We had tried different restaurants by Jose Andres, and they were all good.

Very busy place. Got lucky and found a seat at the bar. The servers were great and I had the best Cosmo I think I've ever had. I didn't get the name of the person who made it, but she was great! The food I had was really delicious. Two starters, the lobster croquetas and the mussels. Both were great but the mussels I would have again and again. The bread was fantastic! I'll have to go again soon!

Valentine’s Day surprise dinner was absolutely delicious! The restaurant was beautiful, the service was as expected, many options available, the server was a tremendous help. The drink recommendation was perfect and full of flavor!

What a disaster, incompetency and inconsistency all over the place. We had a rough start by getting seated to our 8.30pm reservation at 8.50. From there things only got worse. We ordered two drinks. One of them arrived in a broken glass which is unacceptable at a restaurant of this quality. When i returned the drink as the glass was chipped we got an attitude from both the person that brought the drink and our server. From that point it took another 20 minutes to get my drink. Throughout the night we didnt get any service but the tables around us were getting friendly and frequent service. As for food, the lobster bisque was merely cold, and the steak arrived more than an hour after we sat down. I'll give credit where its due the steak and desert were good. However I would rate the service 0 starts if I could. I doubt i'd return here under these conditions. Putting shame to Jose Andres' name.

This restaurant is a must-visit. The food is a mix of Peruvian flavors, with dishes like ceviche and tiraditos, and Spanish touches, like batatas. Every bite is full of flavor and made with care. The atmosphere is just as great. It’s lively, stylish, and packed with people. The energy is amazing, and it feels like the place to be. If you’re looking for a spot with fantastic food and a cool vibe, this is it. Highly recommend! And one block away from the train station 😉

Thank god I finally strolled in here. 100000000 out of 10. Cleared. I normally avoid chains but after several good experiences at Jaleo, I was enthusiastically directed to Bar Mar. The space is stunning. Even the bathrooms had some of the brightest lights I’ve ever seen, I could SEE my pores 😩 The food…. Jesus. The food was that special genre of “good.” I started with Neptune’s pillows and these little sloppy Joe’s, I forget the actual name. Both were - and I mean BOTH - some of the best bites I’ve ever had. That kind of special bite that makes you want to order it again. 50 out of 10 on both. The flavor was deep and rich. at that point I said go ahead and bring out the hamachi crudo, which they were kind to remove the pistachios from re: allergies. SO good. Probably top 1 or 2 hamachi crudo I’ve ever had in my life. I noticed that was a theme with the dishes: superlative. For the main I had salmon with mushrooms, which was okay. Still very good, but I’d order a different entree next time to try more things. The small starters were the star of the show for me, but everything from the Casa Humilde to the end of the meal was spectacular. My sweet waiter alexandros was an absolute joy and needs a FAT raise. I cannot wait to go back. +1 point for inKind benefits.

Very salty inedible king salmon. I sent it back. I got new entree and they took it off the bill. Great bar. Crowded. Large portions. Excellent side dishes. Tables close together. Stairs to bathroom. Outside patio. Near Lyric Opera and train stations. Small menu just changed last week.
