Normally I would go on and on about the food. However, this review needs to be a little different. This one targets the service that we received on Saturday the 25th of January. We met Fredrick. 18 years at the Capitol Grille, raised in the industry and filled with more than just service. This man took 3 folks, strangers to him, and made them feel like part of his own family. Attentive is not even close to the dedication this man puts into his craft. We entered celebrating our family and our accomplishments and left celebrating this man and the exceptional top notch service. If you go, ask for Fredrick. The food is the food, and the place is the place.... but exceptional service can make a great evening stupendous! Thank you again sir! The Whitaker's

Had a special birthday dinner with just my husband and I. It was so delicious. We didn’t care for the brussels sprouts but everything else was amazing. I loved the birthday dessert and glad they paired them together as they tasted great! It was a perfect little sample. Can’t wait to go back! Our waiter was superb. I would highly recommend. We did see some kids there but not sure what their menu options were but I would say the atmosphere seemed pretty kid friendly.

We went for our anniversary and experienced excellent service prompt service kind service. We went in a Tues night. The food was excellent. My only complaint was that the lobster used in the bisque and the risotto seemed reheated and dry. It was not sweet and succulent or moist. Also the scallops and main lobster I thought I was going to get a tail but instead small shredded pieces inside the risotto other than that, the fillet special and the scallops were excellent. The dessert was excellent . The wine was excellent. next time I will order the fillet like my wife did because it was awesome and she topped it on her list. The dessert was fabulous.

We went for my birthday lunch. The staff was outstanding. The atmosphere a little loud, but very acceptable. The unfortunate part was my steak was overcooked. I requested the temperature "medium" but most of it was well done. I should have mentioned it to my server, but we had already waited awhile for the food to arrive and didn't want to start over again. It was a little bland as well. Despite being overcooked, the texture still made it easy to eat. The creamed spinach was delicious. My wife enjoyed her plate. However, when spending $40+ for a lunch plate, I would have expected more precise cooking. Photo attached.

Went for Thanksgiving, made reservations, David is an amazing host, Jasmine was our server and was so kind and attentive. The appetizer of Tuna Tartare was classic, The Black Tie Margarita was strong and sophisticated, The bread and caesar salad was filling. I ordered the turkey dinner with stuffing, sweet casserole, mashed potatoes and greenbeans. it was really picturesque! The pumpkin pie cheesecake gets all my love and affection. First visit to The Capital Grille, I will return in the future. Great food and memories.

Atmosphere We visited The Capital Grille in Tampa on a Monday evening, Dec. 2nd looking forward to the refined and enjoyable dining experience we’ve come to expect. While the atmosphere is typically a highlight, our evening was disrupted by some loud, drunk, and disrespectful patrons seated nearby. Their behavior made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal. While we understand the restaurant cannot control individual behavior, we would have appreciated being seated elsewhere to better enjoy the otherwise sophisticated ambiance. Offering alternative seating in such situations could greatly enhance the guest experience. Service Despite the disruption, our waitress, Angelica, was absolutely outstanding. She was attentive, professional, and courteous throughout the evening, ensuring that we felt taken care of even in less-than-ideal circumstances. Her friendly demeanor and meticulous attention to detail were the silver lining of our visit, and she exemplified the exceptional service The Capital Grille is known for. Pricing While the service and food are consistently high-quality, the ever-rising prices are becoming increasingly difficult to justify. Our dinner for two—including one drink each, a coffee, and the meal (2x Sea Bass) —totaled $260. Even for those who can afford it, such costs make dining out feel less like an indulgence and more like a splurge that’s hard to rationalize. Conclusion While we’ve always appreciated the high standards of The Capital Grille, especially the establishment in Tampa, this experience was bittersweet. The exceptional service from Angelica helped salvage the evening, but the combination of disruptive patrons and steep pricing fell short of the premium dining experience we anticipated. We hope to return in the future, trusting that a more thoughtful approach to seating arrangements will complement the excellent service and cuisine we know this restaurant can deliver.

First time going to Capital Grill and it wont be the last. I took my wife there for our 17 year wedding anniversary and the staff welcomed us as soon as we walked in. I notified them in advance under our reservation what the occasion was and they went all out. The food was good and the service was even better. Great spot.
