Many reviews praise the food, particularly unique appetizers like Rocky Mountain Oysters and Alligator Tail, although some entrees like the Bison Prime Rib and Ribeye Steak were considered less remarkable. One of my favorite restaurants in Denver. Love the history in this place, and the amazing food. Very rarely can you get some of these types of meat. We tried the Rocky Mountain oysters, had the pepper crusted elk and enjoyed some of the borbimoun cocktails. Our server was extremely friendly and was very attentive to our group. This was not always our experience in other local establishments where the 8 of us got terrible service due to the automatic gratuity. Great service, great good, great history...definitely a place to visit.

A fantastic steakhouse with a unique atmosphere, resembling a natural history museum. The restaurant features an impressive collection of animal taxidermy, making it worth taking a walk around to explore. The appetizers, Rocky Mountain Oysters and Alligator Tail, were both unique and flavorful. The Bison Prime Rib and Ribeye Steak were cooked perfectly, though their taste wasn’t as standout as the appetizers. Overall, it’s still a great spot to visit when you’re in town, offering both a memorable dining experience and a one-of-a-kind ambiance.

Buckhorn Exchange has a unique, museum-like charm as Colorado’s oldest restaurant. You’re positively surrounded by taxidermy; it’s really cool! While the atmosphere is great, I found the food to be underwhelming—the ‘tableside’ steak was simply cut at the table, well-cooked but unremarkable. I didn’t feel like any of the food had much flavor. We were very disappointed to find out that the reason we came, rattlesnake, was no longer offered. Service was attentive to the point I was distracted by how often we were interrupted from conversation, and for a $300+ meal, more attention to detail (like confirming drink preferences) would have been appreciated.

Buckhorn Exchange was a fun experience with an interesting menu, but kind of a novelty. I had the 16 oz blackened bison prime rib - again fun b/c it’s different but was actually really lean and less flavorful than beef. On service, when we arrived, the hostess asked us to stand outside, which I didn’t like. Our server was great though. I left a personal item on the table after dinner, and when I went to get it back, they said they didn’t have it. On the atmosphere, cool, taxidermy everywhere but the place kind of smelled funky.

Great history, terrific service. Food is good but isn't going to blow you away. Its a great place to visit at least once. Especialy if you want to taste many game animals. One visit won't be enough.

Excellent establishment, all-around great. Felt like home, Nicole in the bar took care of me. Great history lesson of the Buckhorn and the Denver area in general. A must stop if your near.

Really loved the place there, feels like you’ve entered a place of history with so many taxidermy animals and firearms. Food was good too!

Very good food!! I had salmon and baked potato. Salad was delish. Warm brownie topped with vanilla ice cream is really good. Its a fun place to visit. Lots of history.
