The Secret Sweet & Sour Meat Balls and steak quesadillas receive particular acclaim, while the Caesar salad dressing could be improved. Service has received mixed reviews: some guests experienced excellent service and compassion from staff during stressful times, while others reported poor management responses regarding gift certificates. This locale is ideal and perfect for all occasions; Intimate settings, events, business meetings. I attended on a Thursday evening with 2 associates at 7 Pm on February 8th, 2024. The restaurant was not busy at all; Lots of places to choose to sit; We chose the Mountain View in the corner booth. I asked the waiter to turn down the music in the speaker over head, he lowered it right away. Food at this locale has always been above par and over-exceeded any expectations I might have had. I've visited this locale on 2 occasions, the first was 6 years ago and I was excited to visit again. My associates were highly impressed and remarked that the occasion will be unforgettable. The restaurant is a Family Owned and Operated Establishment, and have managed the restaurant for about 1 year. Currently they do not provide Military Discounts. Mashed Potatoes; were AMAZING, and went well with the glaze given for the Filet Bites, The Filet Bites; you cook to your desired temperature upon the heated Lava Rock; the rock was still hot enough to cook meat an hour later. The glaze; the sauce is really good, blends well on the tongue. Another sauce, basil and something was nice, really nice, yet it just wasn't one of my favorite tastes. Shrimp Cocktail; are the Jumbo Shrimps served with a very nice cocktail sauce blend. Filet Steak Mignon; 8 oz., comes in bite size pieces, 16 oz. comes as a whole piece, I requested to chop into small bites. Steak Quesadillas; I was still munching on the next day are a big hit, a must try; seasoned very well. Ceaser Salad; The dressing was nice, on the light side, would have been nice if it was thicker and creamier, I added more dressing and it was the right amount. i wish I would have ordered the grilled chicken with it. The 'Secret Sweet & Sour Meat Balls'; ARE TO DIE FOR I ordered 2 orders and it wasn't enough. The sauce pairs really well with the Filet Mignon Bites as well. I have yet to try the Molten Lava Cakes will be made from scratch, Hint Hint. I'm not big on Chicken Wings, yet the sauces served with them peak my interest. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement on the entire experience: When I first visited, more sauce choices were served with the steak and i was slightly disappointed. The restaurant may be busy at times, you might want to call ahead for Priority Seating. Overall Experience: I would rate this restaurant as a 6 tier Restaurant on Denver's Top 10 restaurant eateries.

We found this restaurant by chance when another restaurant failed us for a dinner party we reserved for after our wedding. My wife was devastated and we didn't know what to do. We were in town from Florida, and a friend found Trapper's. He explained our predicament, and they said they would be glad to help. From the moment we got there, they were nothing short of amazing. Rene was our waitress, and she was so wonderful. She didn't just provide us with good service. She understood my wife's stress, and she was very compassionate to her situation. Rene and the rest of the staff took what was a disaster, and saved our wedding reception. We will come back here again when we return to Colorado. Not only was their service impeccable, the chef was outstanding. Every single thing he made for us was amazing. All of the people working at Trapper's are obviously dedicated to providing the best service possible. They are a great example of how restaurants should operate. I cannot thank Trapper's enough for going above and beyond. Anyone reading this, you will not find better.

We just left and had the worst experience ever!! We went to this restaurant for our anniversary and had $150 gift certificate from a family friend. The manager (Kylie sp?) said that our gift certificate was no good because it said Trapper Chophouse and not Trappers Bar and Grill (This gift certificate had no expiration date on it and we have had this just a little over a year). Both the sign on the front of building and the front entryway say trappers chophouse, and I told her that this was theft! She then turned her back on me and walked away… I threw my $150 gift certificate on the ground and we are now having to go out and find another restaurant for supper. Was going to give the waitress a minimum $100 tip and she lost out on this ….We will never go back to this restaurant. and highly discourage anybody else from giving money to this corrupt establishment!!!

Mid grade in about every area except service. I've never had a steak dinner served on a tapas size plate until this meal. But here we are. The meat itself was, well, mid grade. The New York Strip was tender enough, but the filet, well, I'm not sure if it was a filet. I did enjoy sizzling it on the lava plate, but that experience doesn't excuse the quality issue. The real killer here was the price for this Valentines Day experience. 1 crab cake appetizer, 2 side salads, 4 oz new York Strip, 4 oz filet, 4 oz blackened shrimp (6 shrimp), a 5 oz ahi steak (definitely not sushi grade), a slice of cheescake and two fountain drinks for $136 out the door. Oh, they threw in a baked potato and a scoop of mashed. Mid. Grade. Just check the pics.

This was not worth the $30 my husband and I spent on breakfast. I ordered the omelet that you can choose up to 4 toppings. I asked if I can order more than that and the waitress said yes. 2 of the toppings I ordered were not on the omelet. They upcharged me for the extra topping which I understand and expected but I also expected the extra topping to be on the omelet. Toast is included with your omelet but didn’t come out until after I had eaten my omelet. My husband also ordered a side of hash browns that didn’t come out until we were completely finished with all our other food. Like I said not worth the $30

Let me start by saying our server was great. She made sure we had everything that we needed and was attentive. For the price of the food, it was terrible. I would NEVER eat there again. Steak was severely undercooked(medium rare instead of medium well), had no flavor, and I had to "saw" it like a log. The potatoes and corn tasted like they had been cooked in leftover seafood boil water. Chicken sandwich was dry and salty, and sliders had no flavor on the meat. Again, good service but terrible food.

Went here for our 27th wedding anniversary. It was a snowy cold day, but they stayed open. There's a lot of food to pick from. I had the NY Strip that I cooked on a Volcanic Hot Rock they bring out. My wife had the "Build Your Own Bonanza" which also used the Volcanic Hot Rock to cook her two Jumbo Sea Scallops and 6 oz. Ahi Tuna. We had a bottle of Zinfandel. The meal was very good, and we enjoyed the ambience. I'm sure we will go here again.

I have lived in the southeast Denver Metro for 8 years and Trappers is the ONLY restaurant I have found which makes true HOMEMADE country gravy for their Chicken Fried Steak. Nothing fancy, or frilly. Just good home cooking going on at this little restaurant nestled at the top of the hotel. I love it!! The best part is, this place is never busy. A true hidden gem menu
