Customer Review Summary
Osuna's Restaurant has been a favorite for many customers, praised for its hot, delicious, homemade food and attentive staff. The Hollenbeck Burrito stands out as a highlight, often considered exceptionally good. However, some reviews express frustration with tipping practices, feeling pressured to tip higher than intended due to credit card processing systems. Service issues have also been noted, with reports of slow service and food arriving lukewarm or bland. Despite these criticisms, the restaurant boasts a nice atmosphere and has received compliments on its friendly staff and reasonable pricing. Overall, Osuna's is appreciated for its food but has inconsistent service experiences.

I live within 5 minutes of Osunas and have been coming here for over 15 years. The food is always hot, delicious and homemade. The staff is very kind and attentive. It’s not very busy during the week so it’s a nice place to dine and relax. It’s our go to place for Mexican food nearby.

The Hollenbeck Burrito is one of those things that makes you say, "Now THAT is seriously good food!" And you can split it with another person if necessary, but warms up great too - so maybe keep it all for yourself.

I really don’t understand the tipping culture today. I had to tip the total amount of food + tax + credit card processing fee, and I had no choice. I must choose a tip of more than 18%, because the lowest level of tip set on the credit card machine is more than 18%, and there are also 20% and 25%. I just went for lunch and I just wanted to leave a 15% tip. But I was forced to tip more than 18%. Because I paid with a credit card. I don’t understand why I have to tip the tax and the processing fee. Really weird. Why does this happen? Tipping has become part of the mandatory consumption amount. It's not that I don't want to tip, it's just that I'm not happy about being forced to make a choice by the credit card machine.

The service was really slow. We were the only ones there. They took long to take our order, they were chatting, very visible. The food came out and it was bland. The plates were extremely hot but the actual food on the plate was lukewarm. The beans and rice looked and tasted a few days old. The atmosphere, such as the holiday music, and the decor was nice. The restaurant was also really dim. I could barely read the menu.

Found this cute, authentic spot right next to our location in Walnut West Plaza. The food and drinks were amazing, our server was very friendly and attentive. Pricing was also very reasonable. We’ll be back soon! Thank you

I would not recommend this place on account of the service. We were the pretty much the only ones in there. There was one other couple leaving and another that was already finished with their meals - also a man at the bar. The service was close to nill. The whole time the waiter (and I'm guessing owner) was at the bar chatting it up with the man. Chips were decent, salsa was good. We received a complimentary soup (unsure of what it was) but it was luke warm at best. Ordered the beef enchiladas with red sauce - it was way to salty. We got a free kids taquitos which was nice. Had to wait forever to get the waiters attention to get the bill and ask for a togo box. Waiter forgot the box which I didn't care because the food was aweful. But, we then had to wait forever for her to pick up the bill. Finally got tired of waiting and walked to the front to pay. Don't know how this place stays in business.

It's a neighborhood spot tucked into a shopping center that doesn't hold a draw for me until now. This was my second time to the restaurant and it was delighted what does special burrito. We popped in about 8:00 p.m. and was greeted and seated quickly. There's atmosphere in this place as much work has gone into the walls tables and other accessories necessary for dining.

Where do I begin. The staff, Martha,Alicia, Ritchie are the best. The three ,make you feel welcomed from the get go. The food is delicious, try the mole, or the Hollenbeck Burrito, or a torta,or cocido like your momma made for you back in the day. Enjoy, you won't be disappointed.
