About Tamra Mediterranean Grill - steak house in Sunnyvale, California

Laid-back spot offering classic Mediterranean wraps, salads & skewers, for dine-in or takeout.

Customer Review Summary

Tamra Mediterranean Grill offers a mixed dining experience. The ambiance is generally pleasant with friendly and attentive staff. Popular dishes include the hummus with chicken, lamb riblets, and various dips. However, some guests have reported inconsistencies in food quality, particularly with mains like seared salmon and bronzino, which were criticized for being bland or overly salty. Service is noted as good to excellent, but can be slow at times. The outdoor seating area adds to the appeal, though some patrons mentioned cleanliness issues with the furniture. Overall, while some dishes impress, others may not meet expectations, leaving a divided impression of the restaurant.

Went here on a Friday night. It was pretty free, not much crowd. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. They catered to all our needs. The vibe was great with nice music. We ordered the hummus with chicken which i definitely recommend. Chicken was juicy and tender. The hummus was the OG kind. Mediterranean pasta wasn’t the best, I’ve had better. Finally, the show stopper was the lamb ribblets!! Absolutely tasty and tender with the mansaf sauce. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner or even a date night.

We was a group of 6 , went with high expectations but all went bad. We ordered 6 samplers and falafel for appetizer and It was good for main course 3 seared salmon , 1 Bronzino , 1 lamb kebab and mansaf . Seared salmon were okay but the resoto they served were weird taste feels like the cheese they used expired. Then the bronzino fish was too salty and couldn’t eat . The main thing is mansaf, am eating mansaf after 11 years and still I have the carving and taste if the fish in my mind I ate last time . Meat for mansaf need to cook in aged yoghurt sauce and served with rice and pine nuts but the items they served not come closers to any where. Never come back and ever recommend

I had a Sunday lunch here for the first time and ordered the Shwarma salad with lamb. Delicious with generous portions. Service was excellent! Nice casual environment. Will be coming here more often to try their other dishes.

The sea bass Branzino was excellent, and the hummus and pitas were delicious. The dishes and desserts were unique, with the chocolate mousse, baklava, and kanafeh standing out. The moussaka and kebabs were tasty, and the juicy roasted lamb shawarma was especially memorable. Everything was so flavorful that it made my mouth water.

Good Mediterranean food with delicious dips! We ordered 6 side sampler and Tagliatelle pasta. The sampler had very tasty dips with warm soft pita bread. The pasta had marinara sauce with chicken meatballs. It was good but a bit dry. Nice cozy decor and both indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was good but a bit slow.

The service was nice - fast, server would check on us regularly, refill water, etc. Food is filling, more Mediterranean rather than Greek spicing. Moussaka was delicious, I ordered shawarma with chicken livers and they were juicy and not bitter, so overall pretty good food. Chocolate mousse was delicious, but the texture was a bit too liquid and it was small for its price. We were sitting outside and the chairs were a bit dusty from the road. Blue water glasses had paint chipping and the overall look of the place was like it needs a bit of love and cleaning. We probably won't return because we didn't fall in love with any food in particular, but the quality of food is nice, so if you like this type of cuisine, it's worth trying.

Found this restaurant Yelp and it was a GOOD find. The food is AMAZING and the service beyond great. Ambiance is just a tad lackluster, but I don’t go out ‘to be seen’; I go for the good food and this place serves up some delicious foods. I can see this as a cute little date night spot, or a lowkey, quiet girls’ night. I don’t think there is a bar, but they do offer wine; alternatively, corkage is $25 which is very reasonable these days. Chris was our server and not only was he able to help us make some decisions, but he was also very friendly and very attentive. Some of our favs were 6-side sampler dips, branzino and the ribeye steak which I believe was a special that night. I must go back and try the lamb shank. Parking is easy as there is a dedicated standalone lot. Looking forward to another good meal there, and soon!

Visited on a Sunday to try the brunch menu. Food was vibrant, fresh, and off the beaten path. Amazing 5 star service from the young gentlemen at the counter. He was also fixing up many of the dishes. They have a tented patio for outdoor dining. Plenty of different mimosas and brunch cocktails to choose from. Very nice touch at the end of my meal with a traditional Turkish coffee. Brunch Burger - Hummus - Turkish Coffee - Baklava
