Stopped here for lunch it was pretty good! We both got the BBQ lunch special, everything tasted great but the portions were very small. Our server was amazing! Definitely going to come back!

So what in the world is a vegetarian doing reviewing Lucille's smokehouse barbecue, and how did it get such a good rating from me? These are the questions. I hope to answer in this unexpected review. Lucille's has never been on my radar as a place to go but an organization I'm involved with was having a fundraiser here and I like to support. I saw there were some vegetarian options on the menu and thought at least I won't starve there. First of all, they bring you a basket of biscuits I've written reviews of breakfast and biscuit restaurants all over the country and go through many phases where I'm pretty sure most of my body is made up of biscuit. These biscuits were fantastic, slightly sweet, but not overly so, delicious with the butter they provided, and perfectly flaky in the exact way that biscuits should be. I would literally come to Lucille's just to eat these biscuits. (Since they give them to you for free, I'm not sure that's allowed… But I'm sure going to try.) I'm also a big fan of bourbon and whiskey, both neat as well as in cocktails. Their bar was well stocked with all kinds of different whiskeys and bourbons. You don't normally see at a bar. Plenty to try there, and I would definitely go back just to sit at the bar and drink whiskey. (Maybe that's enough to get me free biscuits. I had the Kentucky cooler cocktail kind of a lemony Swedish bourbon situation, which was truly delicious from first sip all the way through to the end. Alarmingly easy to drink and not sickly Sweet like some places to their cocktails. I got a couple of sides for my main including hot honey. Cauliflower bites, they're served like little wings with a tasty bread, coating them and a super delicious hot honey to dip them in. It seems like every place is offering some kind of cauliflower situation to vegetarians… This was one of the best ones I've had. Truly a southern dish that fit right into the rest of the menu. The other side I got was country fair corn pudding topped with butter and, as a vegetarian, I'm not limited to sides either… though there are plenty more of those to choose from that suit, my diet. They've also got a "Callin' All Vegan's Back Porch Bowl." – not 100% my jam, but it's nice that they offer it. As a fan of the food and vibe of Southern cuisine, I do wish there was a vegetarian version of their braised greens, and I would be over the moon if they found some way to do a plant-based meat barbecue situation of any kind… That would wildly seal the deal. But they've also got okra cheddar cornbread loaded, mashed potatoes, roasted Street, corn, garlic, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and a few more, so the idea that I might starve here is just not a possibility. I would definitely come back to Lucille's to drink, eat sides, and enjoy those fine, fine biscuits. Well done Lucille's, you made this vegetarian pretty happy. My first time experience here was awful. We had 4 different servers throughout our dining. We never got biscuits even after asking specifically for them. My father's coffee tasted burnt and came cold. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and it was awful. The lettuce was soggy and the dressing was basically just mushed parmesan. The only good thing was the fried chicken. No one came to check on us and ask how our meal was. Literally the worst service I've ever experienced. Not to mention there were only maybe 5 other seated tables. It's not like they were busy, they are just lazy!

Great place for a late lunch or early dinner, we had so much food that we were utterly stuffed with no room for desserts... Located within a very decent indoor plus outdoor mall, great stopover if you are traversing the I-5!

I was here last night with a party of 20 for a friend’s birthday. Brandon was our waiter and he was amazing. He didn’t get any of our orders wrong, he was very knowledgeable with the menu, he was very attentive to all of us and he was very polite. He had a great sense of humor too. The food was also so good. Great portion sizes for the price too! We will definitely be back.

Lucille's is still holding it down! Ordered takeout, and everything was solid. The signature roll with butter sauce? Straight fire. Memphis sauce is a must...drenched my ribs, Alabama chicken, and brisket in it. Ended with banana pudding that hit the spot. Not the most authentic BBQ, but if you're craving, this will definitely handle your fix.

Generous serving. I got full from the appetizers and biscuits. Their biscuit is one of the best I ever had! I enjoyed the loaded fried green tomatoes. The jambalaya was really good. I liked it, but for my husband, it was fiery hot. I didn't enjoy the SC combo much. I liked the shrimps and grits. The corn pudding was bomb. Excellent service by Madison.

Dined at Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que on Aug 2, 2024, with an Ex-College and fellow Navy veteran. I had Babyback Ribs, Maccaroni and Cheese, Collard Greens, and Sliced Brisket with Regular Iced Tea. Biscuits were provided for the table. The portions were sufficient. The mac and cheese tasted well, but I felt it could have been better if it had more cheese. The Brisket was good but wasn't very lean. Way too much fat was attached. Collard Greens were very good, but they could've been better if spicer. The ribs were good caramelized with Bar-B-Que sauce. Make sure you get plenty of napkins. The ribs will be sticky. The Biscuits are not shown in the pictures, but I had the impression that they were not fresh, therefore a little stale. Their flavor came across as a bit sweet and salt. Nice flavor except for what I've already mentioned. As you can see, you'll receive your regular drinks in "Ball Mason" jars. Staff was very friendly. It has the atmosphere of a very large sports bar. There are TV's all around, and there is patio seating available. The major issue we had with the waiter was that he mixed our bills up and charged my bill to my friend's card and his to mine. The manager had to cancel and re-charge our cards. After I reviewed my credit card website a few days later, it looks as if I've been slightly overcharged. I'm in the process of disputing the charge. And by the way, this restaurant is VERY expensive.
