The beet salad was very tasty. Steak was flavored well just portion size was very small. The bread pudding had more of a fruit flavor rather than rum and Raisins that I'm used to. But it was a nice twist very rich.

We enjoyed 4 small plates and shared on the patio. Was shocked how busy the inside was but patio was dead. Great chill spot with incredible food. The only downside was the service. No one was rude but very unattentive. But to bring the review back to the good side - the wedge is big enough for 3 people! It’s delicious too especially pairing it with the Parmesan truffle fries.

The food is good and well plated. Everything is cooked to perfection. There is a large choice of wine. The service is excellent. They provide a main waiter, but many others contribute to the service. The place is warm, calm but needs some remodeling.

I was initially excited to find this restaurant but then got nervous when I noticed several recent low-star reviews, all mentioning a change in ownership and resulting impact to quality. I kept my reservation though and am so glad I did. I was delighted by my meal. Lovely innovative cocktails, tempting apps and starters, and perfectly cooked entrees. My party of two had the Burrata, the Duck Confit salad, seasonal fish (which was king salmon), and the duck breast. All excellent. And thank you to our server Leon for making the night special. We’ll be happy to return.

Delicious meal that is upscale but still reasonably priced considering the quantity and quality of food you're getting. Ordered a smattering of dishes from snails, oysters, cheese plate for appetizers. Each one was very light delicate, not large portion size but still filling and very flavorful. The entrees on the other hand were the star of the show. Big portions, proteins executed to perfection and the 38 North Duck Breast is absolutely to die for. Huge whole duck breast, perfectly cooked medium rare, crispy crackling skin, soft tender meat but juicy despite the lean cut. Would come back solely for that dish. Desserts were also impeccable with traditional French preparations. Croissant bread pudding, chocolate pudding, Apple tart. Each one very unique but well executed in preparation. Service was very friendly and food came pretty quickly. Was able to make a same day reservation without trouble for 4 people and the restaurant is quite large. Parking lot outside makes it easy to not have to hunt for parking in downtown San Jose but we did take the last parking spot so try to come a little early just in case.

Order: Cast Iron Seared 38 North Duck Breast - Marin Sun Farms Heritage 13 oz. Pork Chop - Drink El Camino We visited for my birthday dinner, and reservations were made in advance. Although it was a weekday, play it on the safer side and call ahead. Both meat dishes were tender, juicy, and delicious. The pork chop dinner was a really good portion size alone. Suggestion: If ordering the Duck, include a side or 2. The Duck alone isn't very filling. El Camino drink was a good option to sip throughout the meal. The environment was comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. Don't forget to ask staff for their recommendations.

Had breakfast on Sunday morning with my family. Service was good and was seated quickly. Breakfast arrived, and one of the entrees had molded bread. Disappointed. It would have been a 5 stars if it wasn't for the molded sourdough bread. It was replaced quickly, but still, they should have carefully before plating.

After recent change in ownership, the food quality has gone down severely. Lacking in flavor and seasoning, beyond being bland, duck was not cooked particularly well.
