We celebrated my boyfriends dinner here and they truly made it a very unique and special day! Our server, Benjamin, was amazing! From offering great wine recommendations to food recommendations, we enjoyed our night with spectacular food and service. He was very attentive and helpful when it came to picking the right options of food for us. This restaurant goes above and beyond to showcase their hospitality to guests. From the time you check in to the time you walk out, you experience great service and attention. From the small things such as resetting our table to cleaning after every dish and checking in on us, to serving delicious food, this restaurant is one I’d recommend to friends and family over and over again! Truly a special occasion setting.

Steak 48 is arguably one of the best steakhouses in San Diego thus far! The ambiance here is beautiful inside and it is so spacious. You can see all of the chefs and staff working with all of the fresh ingredients as you enter the restaurant. There is a spacious bar area in various areas for seating. I attended a wedding dinner, which I can say the service was top notch. Everything from the appetizers to the entrees and the desserts were delicious. The cocktails were exquisite. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try a different steakhouse. Other than downtown San Diego, a must!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Incredible Experience at Steak 48 - Del Mar! I had an amazing experience at Steak 48 - Del Mar, and it was all thanks to James at the bar! From the moment I sat down, he made me feel like an old friend, providing top-notch service and incredible hospitality. He recommended the best steak, and let me tell you—it was absolutely perfect! James went above and beyond, even giving me a short tour of the restaurant, which really added to the experience. I’ve been to many high-end steakhouses, but the level of service and genuine care he provided was over the top. Because of James, Steak 48 - Del Mar is now my all-time favorite steakhouse. If you're looking for impeccable service, outstanding food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to go! Can’t wait to come back! 🔥🥩🍷

Exceptional, unparalleled, on another level, top-notch, unmatched...I can go on but I'll just say, this was a dining experience like no other. We were recommended Steak 48 for a special occasion and came for our 1 year wedding anniversary. I called ahead to ask if they do anything for special occasions and sure enough they had a table with rose petals waiting. The whole night was perfect. Our server, Taylor, was personable and spent extra time with us talking life, going over the menu, giving the best recommendations, and even threw in a couple extras to make the evening more special. The manager, Justin, also came by to hang out, chat, and check in a few times. It didn't feel like the normal manager situation walking around. He was genuine and cares for the patrons. He even caught us on our way out while waiting for our car at the valet to thank us for coming in. The busser, Juan, was even a delight. He needs to be promoted to server ASAP! Food: We had the yellowtail hamachi, 22oz ribeye cooked medium rare plus with the black truffle green peppercorn enhancement on the side, crab cakes, the crispy hasselback potato, and the sauteed wild mushrooms. The food was impeccable. It was cooked to perfection with attention to presentation. Elegant, simple, not over the top. Drinks: Basil cucumber limeade, the walnut old fashion, and the Browne family cab with dinner. The specialty cocktails are heavy on the pour and the flavor profiles are spot on. The old fashioned even has "Steak 48" engraved in the cube. Dessert: Key lime pie - pretty good but Houston's steakhouse takes the lead on this. The peanut butter pie was also pretty good especially if you're a PB fan. *raises hand* To top it off, the restaurant called us the next day to ask how our evening was. That attention to detail to call the patrons and ask how their dining experience is second to none. Top tier customer service and care. Long story longer, we had a wonderful night. Everyone was the perfect mix of friendly and welcoming yet professional. Steak 48 goes above and beyond with the ambiance, the service, the food, drinks, and the details. Thank you, Steak 48, for an unmatched experience. Will be a hard one to top.

This was my second visit here and the food was absolutely amazing. It was my bf birthday everything was superior. The advertisers are big enough to share. I had the chicken fried lobster tails OMG the flavors bomb. Also the New England lobster rolls the butter melts in your mouth and full of meat. Everything was so delicious, definitely my new favorite place.

The bar was packed when we arrived but in seconds we were greeted by a bar tender to take our drink order before our table was ready. I was impressed by the service immediately. The wine pours are extremely generous in large wine glasses and they make a great Negroni. The complementary bread is amazing. We ordered the beat salad, potato’s, cream spinach, and steaks to share and they were cooked to perfection.

On a Thursday night, I had the pleasure of dining this restaurant that quickly earned a spot among my favorites. Our group of seven made a reservation online for 7:30 PM, and we were seated promptly upon arrival. The staff offered us a choice of still, sparkling, or tap water. When inquired about non-alcoholic options, I was delighted to find a large selection of mocktails available. I chose the strawberry lemonade, which was refreshing but slightly on the sweet side. To start, they served us cast iron trays filled with buttery, flaky biscuits. They were absolutely divine, cooked to perfection, and I can’t help but drool just thinking about them now. For my main course, I opted for the crispy shrimp, the 48 Caesar salad with a warm poached egg, and shells and cheese. Simply put, wow! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and generously coated with a delicious sauce. The Caesar salad, topped with a poached egg and homemade croutons, was a revelation, and I find myself craving poached eggs on salad now. The shells and cheese were creamy, with a delightful breadcrumb topping that enhanced the rich, cheesy flavor. Several of my coworkers kindly shared bites of their dishes. I highly recommend the whipped praline sweet potato mash, which was the best I’ve ever had, smooth, sweet, and slightly savory. The chicken fried lobster tails were high-quality and tasty, though a bit heavy and salty for my preference. Nonetheless, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and the generous portion sizes made sharing a breeze. Although I was too full to try the peanut butter pie, our waiter graciously brought us a few small chocolate chip cookies. They were crispy, but I personally prefer my cookies on the chewy side. Overall, this dining experience was exceptional, with a fantastic menu and superb service, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for quality dining and a welcoming atmosphere.

Serveice was optimal. Food was great byt had steaks that were better elsewhere. Too many tables close by to each other. Our chairs were knocked by guests and servers several times and moved out of place. Noise level high.
