About The Cutting Board Restaurant & Bar - steak house in San Bernardino, California

Easygoing, family-style eatery offering American fare such as burgers, steaks, seafood & salad bar.

Customer Review Summary

The Cutting Board Restaurant & Bar offers a mix of good food and a pleasant atmosphere, but service issues can detract from the experience. The decor is nice, though some find it lacks coziness as it resembles a hotel lobby. The server's recommendations are appreciated, with particular praise for the drinks. The menu is small, featuring a few steak options, mostly burgers, appetizers, salads, and pasta. Highlight dishes include the bananas foster split, California sandwich, and gooey gouda mac and cheese. While food quality is generally good, slow service has been a frequent complaint. The outdoor seating area looks appealing but can be too hot to use. Parking is available with a free pass for diners. Some customers have reported disappointing service, including long wait times and perceived unfair treatment. Overall, it’s a recommended spot for a casual meal or business meeting if you're not in a rush.

Our server/bartender was really cool. She was very honest when recommending dishes and she actually cared whether or not her customers liked their drink (old fashion without citrus- she did a good job). The decor is really nice, but it is not cozy enough for me. The restaurant is almost an extension of the hotel lobby. If it were warmer, I likely would have sat outside. My impossible bolognese was okay and the oysters were a lil bit too slimy for me, although the topping was pretty decent.

We just went for a local date night and it was nice. Yes it's inside the hotel but the food is good and the atmosphere is nice. There's an outside area that looked very nice but it was too hot to go outside and enjoy it. We will definitely go back to enjoy the outside patio area. There's many more delicious things we want to try. Both servers were hard working and made sure we had everything we needed for our meal.

Overall, it was a nice place. It's called the cutting board, so you expect a steak house. They have literally a single menu item for steak. The menu is pretty small, with plenty of appetizers and burgers, a few salads, and a couple of pasta options. The bananas foster split (warm cooked banana with 2 scoops ice cream) is amazing. The food is fresh and good quality and quite tasty. California sandwich, Mac and cheese (gooey gouda), and chicken cesear were quite good. This is a great hotel restaurant if you have a lot of time to kill. The kitchen was very slow (830 PM and not very busy, but perhaps had a lot of room service going). The wait staff were efficient, attentive, and knowledgeable. It's pricey but not unexpected for a nice hotel. We did not order drinks. The water was excellent and filtered. Good place for a business meeting. Several conference rooms. Overall recommended highly as long as you're not in a hurry or expecting a steak house.

Great menu selection with well prepared food and excellent service. David, the bartender, is always making sure you have everything you need. There's a good selection of drinks too.

A quiet place and we were well served. Good food and would definitely go back. PS- the Cutting Board is in the DoubleTree and there is paid parking. However, if you eat at the restaurant they give you a free parking pass.

My family and I sat here for more than an hour. I heard so much great about this restaurant but unfortunately we waited and saw other customers that got there before us AND after us receive their food. Huge disappointment. Bread was good at least.

It's a hidden gem that offers not only great food but also a comfortable space that is perfect for easy conversations. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxed and productive meeting. The menu offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience for everyone.

Book the hotel where The Cutting board restaurant resides only to be told the only seats they had for my daughters and I to eat. There were at least 10 tables open and Abel tells me everything is reserved so he didn’t have tables for us to seat at. We were the only African American customers in the whole place only to be seated where you wait to be seated. A waitress came to serve us and said we were not suppose to be sitting and eating in the waiting area chairs. She found us a table which I knew all tables was reserved was not true. I traveled from Virginia to California to deal with this on the first day to see my daughter and this was disappointing. The food took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to our table but nothing else was open. Fries, chicken, and burger was cold. The waitress Sarah was pleasant and working hard. The manager Abel gave us 15% off the bill after I told Sarah how we were treated. This was beyond treatment, it was disrespectful.
