About Steven's Steak & Seafood House - steak house in Pomona, California

Retro veteran boasts traditional steakhouse staples, cozy booths & happy hour with free buffet.

Customer Review Summary

Great steak cooked perfectly; generous sides and shareable desserts. Parking can be tricky but is free, contributing to its status as a local gem. Some reviews noted slow service during busy times, and occasional overcooking of food. The atmosphere is inviting, enhanced by live entertainment. For larger gatherings, buffet-style service can lead to overcrowding and a decline in food quality. Restroom cleanliness was consistently criticized, affecting the overall experience. Overall, it’s recommended for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, but the experience can vary significantly based on the event and time visited.

Great steak, done perfectly medium rare! Nice sides included, I was so full. The desserts are big enough to share. Tiramisu was made in house. I will be back. Parking is a little tricky but it’s free. A local gem!

I went here for lunch with work during the holiday season. The steakhouse was packed, and lots of people were doing their holiday lunches. So service was a bit slow. Food was a bit overdone from sitting under the warmers. The flavors were ok. The prime rib was seasoned well, but overdone for my taste. The one person who ordered from the holiday menu was able to get his prime rib at the correct doneness. I will return to try this place again on a different day when they are not as busy.

The restaurant was inviting and service was excellent! There was entertainment, live singing. It made the night very enjoyable. The porterhouse was delicious and seasoned very well. We were seated right away and had a table with a great view of the stage. The server was attentive and very friendly.

We had our company Christmas party here. Our agency had record-banner year and when I heard that we were going to a steakhouse for our annual year-end party, I was excited. Unfortunately i had to lower expectations. You see, our agency allows all employees to bring not only their spouse or "Plus 1s" but it also them to bring their spouse, children and even parent(s)! Some employees brought up to 6 guests before. So with so many extras allowed to come, we could afford fine dining for everyone. They served our party of 110 people roast beef (prime rib) and all the sides, and extra protein like fish filet and chicken breasts, buffet style. We each got 1 drink ticket for beer, wine or unlimited sodas. When we entered from the corner entrance we notice a much larger banquet hall. Our neighbors partied hard. We could hear them loud and clear next door. So my summary is... it was a nicely renovated banquet room, with cool disco lighting effects. More like a party room, then a business conference room. Rhey only had 2 speakers near the front so.its loud upfront and harder to hear near the back. They offered us a good price person, and the food was average. The wait staff was friendly. I expected a casino to be next door. Use your GPS because the restaurant is located on a very tricky corner with 5 or 6 intersections of 2-3 major street and 5 freeway overpasses.

Amazing food and service hands down one of the best statehouse you will find! Perfect for birthdays and anniversary ❤️ And they have entertainment on Saturdays!

3.8 stars, food is delicious I recommend the pizza, the service is great the only reason why this is not a four or five star is because I think that the sewer runs right under the restaurant and the smell comes up, especially when the moon is full, high tide I guess. The owners have tried everything to get the smell out but it just doesn’t go away. It also doesn’t help that the bathrooms are not kept clean. Other then that the salsa is phenomenal with the live salsa bands. Highly recommend this spot for dancing bachata and salsa.

New Year's Eve 2024/2025 Last year we visited Stevens Steakhouse for New Year's eve, we were served a nice sit- down steak dinner, party favors were already at our tables, ample dance room, everything seemed to go fairly smoothly, except the restrooms were grossly last year too and still understaffed, but we decided to revisit this year, Unfortunately this year ringing in 2025, Stevens Steakhouse decided to cheapen the experience by cramming in as many people as possible and making the dinner buffet style, you waited in long lines to get raw prime rib and cold pasta, having to make way since they allowed people on both sides as staff would come in between us literally dumping more food into the trays for refilling, mind you, these buffet tables would later be removed to make room for the dance floor area, there was fragments of leftover food on the Dance Floor since it wasn't cleaned, after we were herded like cattle through the buffet we had to make our way through the overcrowded, crammed and narrow seating area with plate in hand, and good luck getting your cocktail waitress to bring you a drink as they were grossly understaffed, at $110 per seat coffee and tea was not included one cup of coffee cost $5 and all alcoholic drinks were at least $18 each, I feel bad for the people who paid for the $250 seats for no better of an experience, later you had to wait in more long lines for the desert area (one small table), as the staff were frantically cutting whole cakes into slices, this should have been done ahead of time, when we finally got a Slice of Cheesecake it was still frozen, people were also walking around looking for utensils as the staff had picked up our dinner plates and no one thought to have forks available for the cake, I personally walked over and asked someone in the kitchen for forks, but I saw other people also lost looking for utensils, after we finished our dessert it was time to fight the mob for the party favors, there was one guy by himself handing out party favors as a larger and larger crowd formed with people becoming upset as everyone tried to grab for party favors at once, this was a packed house and they had one person handing out party favors. Now it was time to dance, that's if you could find any space on the overcrowded and much smaller than last year's dance floor area, the music didn't start until 10:00 p.m. which gave most people only about 2 hours of dancing, last year since there was no Buffet tables on the Dance Floor people were able to start dancing much earlier, also I should mention this was a sold out event but Stevens was still allowing more people to come in at 10:00 p.m. for $30 per person, this means all of us who paid more for our seats and dancing had to share an overcrowded dance floor with people who came in at 10:00 for significantly less, this was a salsa dancing event, it was extremely difficult to try to dance without getting stepped on, stepping on someone or hitting someone else with so many people, now let's talk about the restrooms, there is an upstairs restroom that has no ventilation and is always extremely hot like a sauna, I went to the downstairs restrooms, they looked as though they had not been cleaned even before the event, but no one was cleaning them during the entire event, I asked Steven's staff twice to have the restrooms cleaned, it was never done, the floors were covered in urine and toilet paper and toilet seat covers, there was toilet paper and trash everywhere, again, this is a salsa event, you have women in Suede bottom Shoes trying to dance with shoes covered in urine and toilet paper stuck to the bottoms, people were warning each other as we walked into the restroom and trying to get wet toilet paper off of their shoes, it was disgusting, I did get a few photos of the restroom but unfortunately I didn't get a photo of the restrooms at their worst. Steven's got greedy and it showed.
