Finally made the trip to this institution since having their house submarine since the 1980's. Fell in love with the ambience and the food filling and very tasty as always. Recommend this place for a good submarine in El Monte

Update 8/16/24: Local legend that will get my business regardless just for nostalgia sake. My reviews will go from 4 to 5 based on service or freshness as they tend to make their best selling sandwich (milanesa) in bulk. The trick is getting there early, before noon or ordering a sandwich that requires fresh made. I’ve tried a few, like napolitana, carnitas, lomo or rib eye but I still prefer the classic beef milanesa. This trip, it was good enough and so was the service. I did discover a few new favorites, like the chicken milanesa and cheese empanada! Chicken milanesa was fresh made and delicious, but was light on the meat to bread ratio. GF really liked the chicken option! Cheese empanada was another great discovery and GF favorite. Anyway, this place will always have a place in my heart and hope to make some new discoveries soon! Yum. A classic. Stopped by near closing time and the sandwich was nice a fresh! Loved every bite of my milanesa con jalapeño! Beef empanadas was a little off but tasty. Beef was a little “mushier” than I’m used too. Maybe a new grind. Anyway, will keep going back!

Another place I like that I should keep to myself but... Get. The. Empanadas! Chicken, Cheese, Beef. Too good!! Quick snack? Lunch? Dinner? Yes. Don't worry if it's too far for you to drive, that just means more for me. 😇 I've only tried the Empanadas and their drinks, so can't review anything else. Please check their hours before you go.

Food is great, sandwiches are the best I’ve had in California hands down. The empanadas are to die for. They are the best I’ve ever had. Great folks serving you. Overall great eats…

Great place for a sandwich. This place really draws a crowd at lunch time. Get here early if you can, parking will go quick. I arrived at 11:40 am before the lunch rush, and was impressed at how long the line will get. The service is quick (I received my order of 24 empanadas, and 16 sandwiches in less than 8 minutes), and they do accept cash and card here. The sandwiches, empanadas, wings, and fries are a popular item (frome what I can hear as other customers order). There is also a deli market here, that carries an assortment of fresh meats. There are plenty of drink options from sodas, teas, and Hispanic drinks. Thank you everyone for reading my review. Please follow me, and check out all the interesting places I visit.
