Customer Review Summary

Service at El Pescador Bar and Grill received mixed reviews, with some customers praising it, while others reported slow and inattentive service. Several reviews highlighted issues like waitstaff forgetting orders, serving cold food, and lack of apologies from management. The food quality was also a concern, with numerous complaints about bland flavors, poorly prepared dishes, and small culinary missteps such as cold cheese in burritos and tasteless rice and beans. Conversely, some patrons enjoyed their meals, noting generous portions and effective service, especially during happy hour. The atmosphere was often described as lively and pleasant, particularly in the bar area, though the music volume could be excessive for conversation. Parking was identified as problematic, with some guests having to park far from the restaurant. Overall, experiences at El Pescador seem to vary significantly, leading to mixed prospects for return visits.

Came here for a birthday celebration, kind of slow but our server was not the best. Well the servers were not the best. First of all we told two waiters that we had a birthday celebration at our table and we even showed him the cake we wanted, dinner ended and I had to remind them again, waited 15 minutes, we finally left. My wife talked to this woman that kept staring at us, we found out it was the manager, she said we should have gone to her, no apologies, just excuses. We were already out the door. The server was okay, but he forgot to offer us water and bring us utensils. No excuse for a slow night. Will probably never go back to that location after paying over 100 for dinner for 4 people and getting bad service. I understand if it's busy, but it was slow. The servers at one point were just standing around talking to each other.

Update... still a great place for drinks and appetizers early in the morning 🌄 Great place for weekends, dinner lunch, and breakfast! Parking lots is large but may get filled quickly. The outside patio is nice and cool. the rear patio is great for large families and get together. The bar area is fantastic, with great music, modern atmosphere and service people were attentive and outgoing. Prices are great, and the drink is great . I wish they had more appetizer selections, but overall, the place was clean, festive, and friendly. It's definitely a great place to relax. Have a quick drink , chit, and enjoy some hearty food

Parking was horrible. Had to park 2 blocks away, tiny parking lot. The food was very bland, one thing I look at with any Mexican joint is the beans and rice which are the two basic sides and are hard not to get right. The beans had no flavor and the rice had too much bullion with no taste of tomato sauce. The ceviche was very plain and didn’t taste fresh, more onions and tomatoes than shrimp. The bean and cheese burrito was lame, the cheese wasn’t even melted, still cold. The fries had no salt and tasted like they were straight out the freezer. The carnitas had soo much fat. I’m usually very generous when it comes to reviews but this location was not like the other locations I’ve tried. Downey is way better. Definitely will not come back again. The food was very bland and overpriced.

I enjoyed eating at El Pescador. We ordered a platter of meat with a side of rice and beans. The food was more than enough for a family of 5. The service was great not too attentive. I don't like when servers hover over me.

Went here on Jan. 6, 2024. I ordered the Chicken and Steak with a Strawberry Cool drink. They were both good and I enjoyed it very much. The food came quick! I recommend it! 10/10!

This review is based of my very 1st visit to an El Pescador restaurant. Prior to going for Happy Hour, I reviewed their menu online. They have a good selection of items, however, I noticed the prices are slightly higher than I expected for a HH. Nonetheless, I was willing to try. My party sat in the bar area where they have HH. I ordered the michelada flight and a combo off the HH menu. Although, what I ordered was regular priced. I ordered the grill shrimp tacos plus a bowl of their fish soup. The food was excellent and the service was great. The only negative part was in order to have the HH items, you have to sit in the bar area (which is typically) but there were post season games showing in the TVs but the music was too loud. I thought that was interesting considering half of the patrons had the eye on the multiple games. There were also families in that area celebrating days. The music could've been turned down a bit or off during playoffs

Service was good. We did go on a slow Thursday night. We tried to sit at the bar but seats were uncomfortable and music was to loud to talk. Our server was kind to accommodate us to the inside section. The drinks were good we had the jalapeño margarita and the mango margarita with chamoy. The food was not as appealing. The tostadas were hard and stale we just used the complimentary chips to eat with the ceviche. Drinks are$14-20 each.
