Customer Review Summary
BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse offers a mix of positive and negative dining experiences. Guests appreciate the seasonal drink menus, particularly the unique Halloween cocktails, and have enjoyed starters like artichoke spinach dip and avocado egg rolls. The staff is generally welcoming and attentive, with specific praise for servers like Shade and special event hosts like David. However, some diners have encountered issues with long wait times, particularly for pizza, and complaints regarding service quality, such as receiving incomplete orders and inadequate attention. Additionally, there was dissatisfaction related to unexpected charges for souvenir items and a reported loss of personal items, raising concerns about staff handling of belongings. Despite these criticisms, many patrons look forward to returning for the food, beer pairings, and festive atmosphere.

During our visit to BJ’s, the Halloween drink menu was still available, which was a nice surprise. We started with the artichoke spinach dip, which was a great way to kick off the meal. I tried The unLUCKY DUCKY—it had a Fanta-like taste but wasn’t as strong as I would have liked. As always, the avocado egg rolls were on point. The only issue I had was with the souvenir tub that came with my drink. After finishing, I left it within easy reach for the server to take, but when the bill arrived, I noticed it had been automatically charged. When I asked the waiter to remove it, he responded, ‘It seemed you wanted to keep it since it was on your side of the table.’ I’m not sure if this is a standard practice, but I’d recommend checking your receipt before paying to avoid any unexpected charges.

Great food and service. Although there is always a wait time during the weekend, evening hours. Definitely worth the wait.

The Montebello BJ’s Beer & Food Pairings in 2024 have been evenings filled with delectable food and excellent beer to go with the 4-course dinners. It’s more than just the food. It’s a fun event! The staff, especially David, Beth, and Liz, have costumes corresponding with the theme. They’re very welcoming to every guest. David explains the beer using an informative PowerPoint presentation to give details about the breweries and featured beers. He’s so entertaining as the master of ceremonies, He has brilliant costume changes which are fun to see as the dinner progresses! Looking forward to the Food and Beer Pairings in 2025!!! Not only do you leave full from an amazing dinner, but happy to have been apart of such a festive and entertaining event! 🍻

I waited 80 minutes for a pizza that was just dough. I ordered ham, pepperoni, pineapple, and only a few pieces came. You could barely taste the cheese, it was just dough. the onion rings that were all burnt 🙁Terrible service. I had to get up to find the waitress to bring me some Parmesan cheese, and she did it poorly. 😒

I left my expensive thermos here at closing. Rather than keep it for "lost and found" for the next morning when I came, they either trashed it or kept it for themselves...wtf?! I called roughly 12hrs later when you opened too. How come you couldn't hold it or prevent worker theft between closing to open?! (Ty for the late reply but I posted about this incident in Q3 or Q4 of last year, I wish you responded to it sooner. It seems you only cared after I edited it to display my view count to vent my, still fuming, anger over the loss) My content has nearly 35M views, enjoy the review.

We had a great experience in our visit to Montebello BJ’s. Shade our server was great, helpful and really friendly. Glad we had him as our server. Food tasted good and pizzokie to finish our visit was just as delicious.

I never once had a less than pleasant time until my birthday this year (1/29). From employees with terrible attitudes, god awful attentive service, and just hour long discomfort being stared at by our server. And this is before we even ordered anything, like there was some sort of intentionally based bias against us. And based on the reviews of others, I'm sensing a pattern of less than satisfied guests who are experiencing the same service time and time again. Here are the highlights of our visit: - We had to ask neighboring tables for sauces and ketchup since they wouldn't bring them to us. They also continued to literally "drop" the plates on our table, loud enough to where the other guests would notice. - We went on a "deal day," and instead of being served unlimited fries and drinks, we were served the one plate of fries and no refills. We also had incomplete orders with additional inclusions/components (such as lettuce) coming out separately, as though we're meant to build our own meals at our table. - Also, are we supposed to eat the paper our appetizers are served on since half of the toppings were melted onto the parchment paper? - We were treated so terribly, I planned on leaving only 20 minutes after being seated and completing the appetizers. This makes me want to submit an application and show them how to properly attend to guests after 8+ years in the Guest Service business because that is complete nonsense coming from one of my favorite restaurants. (I've already submitted the feedback via Email.)

We love coming here for the pizza and the beer. Especially Jeremiah Red. Our most recent visit was to celebrate a birthday as has become a family tradition for a few years now. We were seated right away. Our server, Shade, was great. Let us take our time, made some good recommendations, and gave us the perfect amount of attention throughout our meal. As for the food, definitely recommended the mozzarella sticks, too start and a pizookie to top things off. Way too many things to recommend in between. We can’t wait to come back
