French cuisine at its best! Rated #1 restaurant in Carlsbad for a reason! The food was amazing! The service great and attentive. Great wine selection. The rack of lamb was ordered medium rare and it came out right! The filet was cool perfectly too. This place is a great place for a romantic dinner or for a birthday. People go there in shorts but it’s really a nice place and like us, should have people come dressed up. It keeps this place classy and sets the mood for the dinner. Have fun!

My duck confit was delicious, well balanced of taste and texture. The hanger steak was very good as well, well seasoned and cooked perfect. Service was great. Prices are pretty high ... cant afford more frequent dining here for sure...

Food was good but the main course we had was a little bland. Service was top notch. Our Waitress knew how to open our 10 plus year vintage bottle of wine. She was amazing.

Just want to say I was in Paon tonight just before sunset. The room was beautiful, the suggested tastes and wine super delicious, and my cheese plate sumptuous. Overall extra enjoyable experience - wine lovers go and enjoy!

We went for a belated Mother’s Day lunch and were super happy with everything! Great wine menu, the food was delicious, the ambience is beautiful, and our server was funny and helpful. We sat outside which was great for a kiddo. Would definitely go back. Would like to check out their wine tasting room as well.

We had a great experience at Paon and will definitely come back. The service exceeded our expectations. Our server Eugene was very attentive but not intrusive. Eugene was friendly and highly professional and accommodating. The owner Steve was very personable and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. He came by our table, engaged with us, and gave us good recommendations! The food was amazing, very well seasoned and prepared to perfection. They also have a large wine selection and cocktails. Attached to the restaurant is a quaint wine bar/shop with live music on the weekends, large wine selection, and a cozy atmosphere! I highly recommend Paon and give Eugene a 5-star rating!

Well, we were big fans of this restaurant, but it didn’t hold up to its previous standards on this visit. Firstly, our server was slow, and disorganized. I wanted a bourbon to start, and they were out of the first commonly known 4 brands that I listed. The snails were the worst we’ve ever had. The tuna tartare was just so weird, none of us liked it. My partners Ahi wasn’t edible. On the upside, my duck was good, and another person had venison, and it was good. Overall though, we will never return. It was not a good experience overall, I would not recommend. Especially at their price point. If the owner is reading this, you should be embarrassed. Ruined our family Christmas outing. It was my idea to go to this restaurant, and I’m still getting complaint from my family!
