About Hana Tokyo - steak house in Tucson, Arizona

Customer Review Summary

Hana Tokyo is a hibachi restaurant with a varied experience reported by customers. Many patrons praise the fun chefs and good, fresh food, noting a solid dining experience and attentive service. However, some reviews highlight significant issues, including warm sushi, bland fried rice, and rude service. One customer criticized the accuracy of online orders, reporting cold food and missing items. Despite these negatives, the restaurant is still favored for lunch specials and is a go-to spot for fresh, quality sushi, particularly appreciated for its price and flavor. This is a good, typical hibachi place. The chef who made our dinner was super fun and talented. The food was solidly good and fresh. Overall a fun, tasty experience!

We have been coming here for years. Something has changed (in a bad way). Sushi came out warm, nigiri should be super fresh and cold, but was clearly sitting out. The fried rice was bland, chicken looked boiled… nothing fried about it. Waitress was also avoidant and somewhat rude.

Garbage food. Can't get an order right. When I come back to Tucson I promise to never order your freezer burnt food ever again. If you can send a door dash order correctly 2 miles away please close your doors because your food is absolutely horrid.

You can get their lunch special to go and you don't have to just dine in. It's a nice option

EXCELLENT food and atmosphere! My desire is to recommend/ask management to please consider time management when there is such a large group. There were 26 of us so reserved two hibachi tables. Table 1 had great quick service. Table 2, however, had to wait until Table 1 had eaten and paid the bill, 1.5 hrs, to have their food service started. It was obvious that there was only one hibachi chef working. It happens. Given this, management should have/could have helped out by having someone clean up Table 1's grill AND have Table 2's chef's cart ready to go. Our poor chef had to take time (15 minutes?) to close out Table 1 (clean the grill, take cart back, load Table 2's cart, etc. Not sure what all is done to prep for the next table). It just seems management could have done something, given the large group and only one chef, to prevent Table 2 from waiting so long.

Ordering online I never was notified when food was ready. Picked it up and it was cold. Got home and realized the appetizer was real hard and one of the entrees was lacking in the paid extra for more meat department. Taste was good and the sushi was good. Price was too high.

My favorite sushi spot in Tucson. The cuts of fish are commensurate with the price, unlike so many places in town. The fish is always fresh, I’ve never been sick from eating here. It’s our go-to spot. The hibachi is also super good and we go there with groups and are always well accommodated.
