Customer Review Summary
Forty Niner - Rincon Mountain Grill offers a mixed dining experience. The smash burger received positive feedback for its taste and the service was noted as fast and friendly, especially during quieter lunch hours. However, some customers felt that the food did not justify the prices, describing it as mediocre at best. While pizzas and the club sandwich were regarded as decent options, other dishes like the burger and short rib sandwich were criticized for lack of flavor and quality. One reviewer had a particularly negative experience, describing their food as overcooked and unappetizing, leading them to express disappointment with the value offered. On the positive side, the atmosphere is praised for being relaxing and a good spot for socializing, especially with the recent bar renovation. Overall, while some enjoy the setting and certain food items, others feel the quality of the food needs significant improvement.

Enjoyed the smash burger! Service was great and very fast. It was quiet and almost no other customers around 1pm on a Thursday. Perfect for grabbing a quick lunch before going back to work.

It's a decent place, but for the prices charged, I expected better. I have tried this place twice now and had the same experience both times, ordering different dishes each time. I will say that others in my party ordered pizzas and a club sandwich. Both looked pretty decent, and they said their food was good, just not $16 good. Be prepared for slow service as well. If you're out enjoying a round of golf and want to grab lunch, it will fill the need. The club sandwich appears to be the best deal.

We go there about twice a month to have lunch and relax. The food is great, and the service is outstanding. A very relaxing "Ninteenth Hole" atmosphere, with a complete bar. Recommend it to everyone.

The food is horrible, horrible and horrible. I ordered a burger--was it meat or dried out shoe leather. It was 2 thin patties--maybe meat or maybe not-- fried so much it was crispy all the way through, no juice, no flavor. Obviously from one of those packages of premade patties, 20 to a pack. I expected something made with real ground meat. The crinkle cut fries were soggy, floppy and oily. Another person with me ordered the short rib sandwich. What sandwich--it was some type of bun laid open melted cheese and 5 pieces of meat about the size of a quarter. Not enough anything to cover the bread. No flavor to the meat. He went home hungry. WAYYYY OVER PRICED GIVEN IT DOESN'T EVEN TASTE OR LOOK LIKE FOOD. $60 for 3 of us to have sandwiches and fries, most of which was not edible. Supposedly recently remodeled, I don't see much change. The place is generally dark and dated in style/appearance. All dark brown and beige/tan. Our service was average, we asked for extra ketchup and didn't get it until one of us got up to track down the server and asked for it again. I did see 2 tables near me get the wrong food. One server was taking a tray for food and carrying the foldable tray stand over their arm as they went. The feet of the stand hit 2 quests at the table as the waiter shoehorned along the length of the table--wanting to be at the other end for some reason. This place must be struggling to survive because none of the food is any good. In the past I have had the brisket sandwich and shrimp basket. I would not order them again,. The sandwich was sparse. The shrimp was not the plump shrimp. It was flat shrimp, mostly breading and so over cooked it was cardboard. I gave the place multiple chances. I would not recommend eating here. If you can't even get a burger and fries right at a "bar" there is no hope.

The Rincon Grill is a local favorite, and a great place to experience connecting with your Tanque Verde neighbors in a top-notch environment. The new bar area is great!

Great hidden gem at the golf course. Excellent service and food. I had the fish fry...may be the best in town. The bar is small, in a good way. There are plenty of tables to sit for a meal, casual with a very nice atmosphere...loved it!
