Customer Review Summary
Charro Steak & Del Rey has received mixed reviews. Some diners appreciate the upscale ambiance and delicious offerings, particularly praising the carne asada and tableside Caesar salad. Service is often highlighted as attentive and friendly, with several guests noting a memorable experience due to the staff’s efforts, including complimentary items and problem-solving for cold food. However, some dishes, such as the ribeye and halibut, were criticized for blandness or unexpected textures. This is our second time eating here. Thought we would give it another try. Considering how busy this place gets you think it would be better. I ordered the steak and it had some weird fat growth attached to it that I’ve never seen on a ribeye? “Just OK” for the price it should come with a better side than refried beans. My wife ordered the halibut and it was pretty bland and had a strong odor. The lobster queso fundido was really good as was the brussels sprouts. They did give my wife a complementary cheesecake that was delicious!! Well done 👍 The only reason for three stars.

Everything was cooked to perfection and packed with so much flavor. Didn't like the mussels tho and I REALLY wanted to like them. Everything else was probably the best meal I've ever had in Tucson. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our meal. A bit upscale, but typical of downtown Tucson. A gifted guitarist played that night.

Fantastic restaurant in downtown Tucson. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was great also. Honestly this was the best carne asada I've ever had in my life. It was cooked absolutely perfectly, tender and juicy. I can't recommend it enough. Also the table side Caesar was great as well, it was a little different than usual and it was really great. All of the food was fresh, cooked perfectly and really top notch. The service was on point and everyone was friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend!!

Had an absolutely wonderful experience, and the food is outstanding!!! Thank you, Ray, for the free chips and salsa! Mark was an amazing waiter and gave top-notch service. We only had a few little issues that Mark was able to correct, but for $100 per person we shouldn't have had any issues. 1. Our fries came out cold and soggy...Mark went back and got us a fresh order. 2. Coffee after dinner came out cold also...once again Mark went back and got us a fresh cup. If you ever get a chance do not pass it up...absolutely wonderful food and amazing service.

Amazing Tucson Az steak and seafood. Restaurant is upscale casual with eclectic vibe. Service (Diego) was helpful and friendly and not overbearing. Steak was out of this world - second only to Gene & Giorgettis in Chicago.

My husband and I love coming here for date night. The service is impeccable. The food is exquisite and the location can be beat.

Visiting from the east coast to see if we want to move to Tucson, we came across this highly rated restaurant, and loved it! We got a last minute reservation and sat outside on the patio. It was chilly, and the helpful manager brought over a heat lamp which made it cozy and romantic. The sangria was off the charts delicious! We had the tableside guacamole and the cast iron mushrooms, both of which were fantastic. We both got the rib eye steaks, which were wonderful and cooked nicely. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable and super friendly! If we move to Tucson, I can see this being a regular place for us!
