About Talavera - steak house in Scottsdale, Arizona

Upscale steakhouse at the Four Seasons, with dramatic desert views & refined Southwestern decor.

Customer Review Summary

Talavera offers a beautiful atmosphere with stunning views, particularly during sunsets. While many diners praised the service and ambiance as excellent, opinions on the food were mixed. Some guests enjoyed perfectly cooked dishes like octopus, filet mignon, and paella, while others criticized specific items like the porterhouse steak for inconsistent seasoning and preparation. Mashed potatoes garnered positive remarks for their unique texture. A few reviews mentioned a lack of standout dishes compared to other high-end restaurants in Scottsdale, leading to some hesitation about returning. Overall, the restaurant blends contemporary flair with a Spanish steakhouse influence, though experiences may vary significantly among diners.

We had OK experience, food was not bad (except asparagus was saggy), but the food for this type of restaurant should be levelled up! Everything was OK, and wont be back for OK food. And I visited many high end restaurants and you know the difference, when you know what to expect from a place like Four Seasons! Service was great though and nice atmosphere. This place has a beautiful view, beautiful sunset. Won’t be back to try other dishes, too many great places in Scottsdale to try and explore.

Very poor steak. First porterhouse was crazy over seasoned, salty. Second one had not seen any salt and was “boiled”. The meat was delicious but the preparation poor. Now, octopus, mashed potatoes, endive salad are gorgeous. But for a steakhouse… Come on! This is not good enough. I would not recommend the panna cotta. But this is more a matter of taste. Very smoky.

Food was delectable. Everything served was made with such care. We had the fluffiest mashed potatoes we have ever tried, and it had a crispy surface, seemed like creme brulee cutting into it. Flan was super good as well. We also had sea bream and filet mignon, both were delicious. Also our server called us by name and took good care of us. Very impressed by the good, the service and the view was beautiful. Definitely sit outside when you can, beautiful city view with natural scapes as well.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal here. It’s a Spanish (Spain) steakhouse with a contemporary twist. Very chic, elegant, but not stuffy. The food is delicious, very well thought out, perfectly prepared, beautifully presented. •The pan con tomate was delicious. Very fresh and piled high with a delicious confit-style tomato topping •The croquetas de jamon were amazing, perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with cheesy hammy flavor on the inside •The gambas al ajillo were our favorite appetizer. The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked, served with the most delicious sauce and bread for dipping. •The grilled Spanish octopus was a very close second. Perfectly cooked, amazing texture, delicious flavor, great accompaniments. Just fantastic. •The tomahawk, again, was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Cut table side and served with roasted bell peppers, a selection of seasonal sauces, and two sides of your choice. The quality of the meat itself was also very obvious: very well-marbled and flavorful. •And you must get the off-menu churros for dessert. You’re welcome! The service is impeccable. Catherine and Patrick were lovely: friendly and pleasant, helpful with suggestions, and very professional. The atmosphere is fantastic. Contemporary, colorful, art; comfortable seating with beautiful desert views; and even in a full dining room, it is not too loud. Resort Chic is the dress code.

Our server, David, was absolutely amazing! Our anniversary dinner was spectacular. The Paella and filet mignon were exemplary. Will definitely go back!

Little chilly in this big space but nicely decorated with different aspects of Latino flare. Deliciously hot food and highly accommodating chef. Wait staff is absolutely darling but think again a bit short handed (eg instead of being able to check in as frequently, sometimes need to wave down). Highly recommend the squid ink risotto-esque octopus, even if just for the risotto.
