About Roaring Fork - steak house in Scottsdale, Arizona

Stylish restaurant with an Old West vibe serving flame-grilled American fare & cocktails.

Customer Review Summary

Roaring Fork offers a great happy hour with delicious "big ass" burgers and excellent value. The rustic atmosphere is complemented by attentive and energetic service. Highlights include flavorful smoked wings, phenomenal steak, and scrumptious crème brûlée. However, the experience can be marred by poor treatment from the hostess, noted for being cold and unhelpful regarding seating arrangements. Despite some mixed service experiences, many reviews praise the welcoming lodge-like ambiance and the attentiveness of servers like Celeste. While the food quality is consistently good, some dishes, like the crème brûlée, have received minor critiques. Overall, Roaring Fork is recommended for its great food and lively setting, though there are some concerns about service inconsistencies.

Went for the happy hour “big ass” burger and it did not disappoint! Great value. Everything was perfect. I’m sure this place is great anytime but I highly recommend checking them out from 4-6p…get there a bit early, there is a line.

Great food and service in a rustic atmosphere. Also very unexpected since it feels like it’s attached to a business center. Sat at the bar, bartenders were attentive and on their game. Started off with the smoked wings. Really good flavor. Then ordered a ribeye steak and a side lobster tail. Obviously was really hungry. Everything was delicious and I enjoyed the atmosphere.

This was probably the nicest most energetic server I’ve ever had. The food was very good. The steak was phenomenal and the crème brûlée was quite scrumptious. The amount of flavor in the Mac and cheese was amazing and the street corn was unbelievably delicious.

This place was amazing. The atmosphere was great and I must admit the food was great. We stopped at this restaurant as it was close to the hotel and convenient. The service was next level and our waitress really cater to our needs. All the food came out hot and tasty. I truly recommend this place.

Service was SOLID!! Our server was the saving grace for this restaurant. Food was great! Only 1 star as the hostess was horrible! She was cold as ice and she made sure we felt it. Celebrating a 50th birthday from out of town we knew with having a party of 10 that we had to split up and get two tables or get a private minimum spend room which was not an option. Speaking to the hostess we kindly asked IF POSSIBLE please try to seat us near each other to be able to actually feel like we were celebrating the night together but she said “as of now it’s not happening.” We completely understood… Walking us to our table we sat down and as we waited for the rest of the party to arrive two tables behind us began to clear up so we asked the hostesses if the rest of our party could be seated next us and she said because of a staffing situation they could not sit at that table (this is a table that had just cleared) She then walked passed us giggling with another hostess. It’s evident it was intentional as it was a jam packed full house with one table that they were not seating right behind us. Such salty ladies and for no reason at all. It was something they could have made happen but 100% did not want to. Sad cause everyone we came across in Scottsdale was beautiful, kind and inviting but can’t say the same for the two at this restaurant.

The dishes here were excellent. We started with the wings which had an incredible flavor between the dry rub and the smoke. Perfectly cooked, and I cannot recommend these enough! I also ordered a steak which was beautifully prepared, and a creme brulee (though this was slightly under-prepared, but still very good) Roaring Fork feels like a very warm, welcoming lodge. And a great part of that is how inviting and helpful the staff here is. Celeste was a great joy to have waiting our table! She was incredibly attentive, made great recommendations, and was great at making our visit as fun as possible!

We enjoyed a really tasty meal at the Roaring Fork. The Smoked Wings were outstanding. Long smoked and lollipopped made these wings really special and delicious. Hubby and I both ordered the NY Strip based on the recommendation of our amazing server, Celeste. (She was quite fantastic). The steak was great from the sauces to the crust, tender, cooked perfectly. The horseradish sauce was a standout. The only constructive feedback I have was on the finishing of the creme brulee. The sugar was still granulated and needed more time under the torch. The ambience is a bit dated, but gives the feel of a Yellowstone lodge.

Update. Lowered the star rating because I ate at the bar, and the bartenders are rude AF. I guess since I'm not a regular who drinks like a fish and talks their ears off like most of the old people in Scottsdale I don't qualify for decent service. The bartenders in Austin were never like these pretentious brats behind the bar. Being a fan of Roaring Fork in Austin, I'm happy to see their Scottsdale location. My favorite item on their menu is the cedar plank salmon. It sets the standard for cedar plank salmon and is always fresh and flavorful. Their tortilla soup is good, too. Service is always attentive.
