Customer Review Summary

La Jolla offers great service and an inviting ambiance. Reservations are recommended, but walk-in seating may be available. The menu features fresh and flavorful options, including tuna nachos and well-cooked wagyu beef, although the steak may have more fat than some prefer. Signature dishes like the Hokkaido scallops and grilled bison receive high praise, along with delightful desserts like key lime cheesecake and crème brûlée. Many diners recommend specific pairings, such as the mild blue cheese sauce with picanha steak. While the atmosphere is relaxed, the lighting can be dim, making it necessary to use phones for reading menus. Overall, La Jolla is suitable for special occasions and date nights, known for its delicious food, friendly staff, and a mix of seafood and fusion small plates. Though the restaurant can be pricier, many consider it worth it for a memorable dining experience.

Great service and ambiance!Reservations are recommended but my friend and I were able to be seated at a high top table as walk-ins.Service was superb!I was able to order a sidecar as an off menu item which tasted amazing! The tuna nachos were fresh and very flavorful. The wagyu was perfectly cooked to medium but not the best cut.The portion size was ample but there was more fat on the steak than I would prefer. The sear was also borderline too heavy but perfect for my taste. The broccoli was quite tasteful as well. The key lime cheesecake is highly recommended! There's soft lighting throughout the venue which really sets the tone for an enjoyable evening. I will definitely be adding the location to my favorites in the area.

Relaxed vibe, delicious food, not bad prices. Recommend getting reservations and an early table for best availability. Sometimes you can walk in and get a seat at the bar. Lighting is dim so you might need to squint or use your phone to see the menu. I've had the La Jolla burger, the lamb chops with pear gastrique and the picanha steak. All were good. Last night I got the picanha steak. It was a wonderful medium rare with a side of mild blue cheese sauce. The sauce didn't punch you in the face like most blue cheese. It was a perfect pairing for the steak. The menu is subject to change. They no longer had the risotto and I noticed the ingredients for the La Jolla burger have changed over time. Military discount. Very good place for an anniversary or similar occasion.

AMAZING FOOD & WAITER! One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. I will be back for sure! 🔥🤩 I ordered the Hokkaido scallops with seafood pasta & my date ordered the Grilled Bison. The white cheddar mac & cheese was very delicious as well. Also for dessert we had Crème Brule.

My go-to place when I am in Montgomery. It is usually packed, so book reservations in advance. Great place for a date night, girls night, or couples night. Love the burger, one of our favorites.

La Jolla offers an amazing dining experience and wonderful atmosphere. We went for dinner on a Friday evening and were greeted immediately. The staff was very friendly and sat us at a table overlooking the restaurant. Michael was our server and he was incredible. He offered suggestions and took the time to answer all our questions. I had the ribeye filet with fried okra. It was cooked to perfect medium rare. The okra was tasty, but I'll try another side next time. My girlfriend had the double bone in pork chop with mac and cheese. The pork chop was out of this world! She ordered it well done, which I thought would come out dry, but was I wrong! The pork chop was so juicy that we almost needed a napkin to soak it up. I will definitely be a frequent dinner here as there were many more items on the menu that I want to try. I highly recommend you checking this place out!

Terrific seafood and fusion small plates at La Jolla. Service was fast and super friendly, and our waitress recommended the lamb, raw tuna, and scallops. She was right on - all were delicious, especially the lamb. All meats are cooked on a green egg. The cocktails were excellent too although on the sweeter side. This restaurant is pricey for Montgomery but worth it for a special occasion.

Went here for my birthday. Recommended by a coworker. Nice place, small and intimate. Tastefully decorated. The service was fantastic. We had the calamari for a starter. I ordered the blackened gulf swordfish with crawfish ettouffe and basmati rice. It was good and had some heat. I would guess habanero powder/salt. He had the wagyu picanha steak with fries. For dessert, the chocolate cake with salted carmel sauce. Everything was very good. I already know what I am going to order next time.
