Rustic eatery serving aged, USDA Choice steaks & traditional sides alongside a cozy rock fireplace.

Customer Review Summary

Ruby River Steakhouse in Provo has a charming old west decor and a cozy atmosphere, especially with a fireplace during snowy visits. Many diners love the food, particularly the blackened porterhouse, sirloin gorgonzola, coconut shrimp, and baby back ribs, with some also enjoying the house root beer. However, there are complaints about inconsistencies in steak doneness and portion sizes, as well as service issues regarding bread and additional costs for toppings. While the overall experience is positive, some reviewers note that the restaurant could use a decor update. Great service has been highlighted, with specific praise for servers like Andy and Cade, enhancing the dining experience for many.

I went to Provo location, for only a few days, and I had to go to Ruby River twice to eat the dishes I saw on other tables, the day I went it was snowing, and they had the fireplace lit, everything very decorated in the old west. My second visit, I ate the blacked Porterhouse, omg delicious, and the sirloin gorgonzola. I loved it.

The restaurant itself was really hot which made the dining experience a little uncomfortable. All the the steaks came out pretty rare to what we ordered and one of the steaks was supposed to be a 12 oz but it was only an 8 oz. The waiter wouldn’t do anything about it. The jacketed potatoes were pretty good not a lot of flavor in my opinion and it costs extra for bacon and cheese which is silly in my opinion. But vote all it was good

Haven't been in a while. Was a little disappointed that we didn't get the bread at our table. Figured they didn't do it anymore but then saw serval puget tables get bread as they were seated. No biggie. Your food was delicious. It was a fun date night.

I hadn't been to Ruby River in years, and I mean like, 10 yrs! This place has not changed at all one bit. It's definitely time for a face-lift. The decor and the carpet are the same it was since it opened, and sure its nice its keeping its originality but it needs a little TLC. Anyway the only thing I love about it, it's their coconut shrimp and their cobbler.

Simply a delicious. A buddy of mine was looking for somewhere to get a few shots with a steak. He was not disappointed. I was not drinking so I found out that the house root beer was quite good. You can also order it with a scoop of ice cream and it becomes a float and they do refills on the Root beer. We actually went back to back two nights in a row, We were in town for work. I ordered the baby back ribs with potato first night and a ribeye with sweet potato the second night. Both were excellent. They do their version of an awesome blossom I think they call it a Browning onion. It was delicious. I would recommend anyone going there if you are a love for a meat and you want to have good meal.

This was our first time here, and we had a great time. Our server Andy was excellent, extremely helpful, and with a great demeanor. He recommended the filet mignon, and it was superb. The lettuce wedge salad was very flavourful. 100% recommended.

I liked the interior. Service was nice but not really helpful in advising. Loved the salad and the bread. The chicken was grilled great but the vinegar in the cheese sauce was overpowering. The ribs were done great but the barbecue cause ( store type) was just slapped on . So it was not “ in” the meat .
