Had a birthday brunch for my friend yesterday for 25 people. The staff and managers were so accommodating and kind. The food was delicious and came out quickly! We will definitely come again and often and use them for events in the future!

Come on a Sunday afternoon and unfortunately too early for the dinner menu. Overall was a good experience. The food was good but nothing too out of the ordinary. I’ll try it out again but the fries were great. Service was a bit slow, employees seemed more focused on what seemed to be the owner or manager dining.

🟢 Old Gilman Grill From start to finish, my experience at Old Gilman Grill was outstanding. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was beautifully presented, and the service was exceptional. Our evening began with the Castaway and Cherry Pickin cocktails. Both were expertly crafted—refreshing and flavorful, setting the perfect tone for the meal. For appetizers, the Crab Fritters were a standout—crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, served with a delicious sauce that tied it all together. For entrees, the Trout Almondine was absolutely perfect—flaky, well-seasoned, and beautifully prepared. The Steak Bravas, while good, could have been better in terms of tenderness and flavor balance. That said, the addition of mushrooms and blackened seasoning elevated the dish nicely. Our server, Sara N, was attentive and friendly, ensuring everything arrived promptly and just as we ordered. The restaurant’s attention to detail and welcoming ambiance made for an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re in Chattanooga and looking for a top-notch meal with incredible service, Old Gilman Grill is a must-visit. Five stars all the way!

Bailey was a great server! The blue crab cakes lacked flavor but the sweet corn that accompanies it was good. Sweet corn is pretty easy so no extra points for that. Had the delmonico ribeye which again lacked flavor and was rather tough. Thankfully the steak was served with a very delicious gravy which saved it. The cocktails were great! It’s a nice restaurant but they should work on improving their flavors.

Saturday I had the opportunity to have a personal cocktail class for my birthday at Nightcap and I had the absolute best time! A drink was created called the Chattatini and it was phenomenal! It was also such a beautiful cocktail. After that we hopped next door to Old Gillman for brunch and it was also so good. Shout out to Briana Garza with Chatttaste for creating so a memorable experience for me!

Made an easy reservation day of and they got us in no problem. It does get pretty busy at peak times, so I would recommend it. Bar is stocked with a good selection of some tough to find bourbons. Brussel sprouts were phenomenal. I had the cajun pasta which was also quite good. My wife got one of the non-alc cocktails which was better than most regular cocktails I've had by a fair margin. Service was fast and efficient. The only thing that tempers this review is that another party member's chicken dish was terribly dry. The sauce helped revive it to a certain extent but I was surprised given the quality of the other dishes.

My wife and I recently visited Old Gilman Grill, hoping for a relaxing evening and a delicious meal. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by an anxiety-inducing atmosphere and underwhelming food. Upon arrival, we were seated in the middle of the dining room, directly next to a large party of at least 16 people. The noise level was overwhelming, as they had to yell to converse over their multiple simultaneous conversations. This made it extremely difficult for us to hear each other without raising our voices. A better choice would have been to seat the large group in a different section, preferably towards the back, to cut down on the overall noise and create a more pleasant environment for other diners. Now, onto the food. The focaccia we started with was disappointingly bland, though the garlic butter served alongside it was its saving grace. For our appetizer, we opted for the Blue Crab Cakes. While they were a bit soggy, they had a nice flavor, and the cream corn bed they rested on was delicious. I initially wanted to order a steak, but after noticing several half-eaten steaks at nearby tables, I decided to try the Duck Confit Fettuccine instead. This turned out to be a mistake. I had envisioned a decadent confit atop a bed of fettuccine with carrots and other vegetables, but what I received was more reminiscent of pot pie filling on fettuccine with shredded duck. The dish was so unappetizing that I could only manage a few bites. When the waitress asked if I liked my meal, the overwhelming noise from the large party made it difficult for me to communicate my dissatisfaction before she moved on to my wife. My wife, however, thoroughly enjoyed her Scottish Salmon, noting that it was cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor. For dessert, we chose the bread pudding, which was the best part of the meal for both of us. It was a delightful end to an otherwise lackluster dining experience. Overall, it’s uncertain whether we will return to Old Gilman Grill for another try. I hope this review provides some helpful insights for potential diners. Enjoy the pictures!

Had lunch at noon with a group of six, ate outside since weather was beautiful with terrific location for people watching. very good service, appetizers included, artichoke dip, and fried Brussels sprouts, both delicious. Wife and I had French dip beef sandwiches also delicious and a lot of food, think doggy bags if you order. Friends had various bowls and cast-iron dishes, which were mainly rice with some vegetables on top and optional meat like salmon. They enjoyed their meals, but said it was a lot of white rice. A little pricey by Chattanooga standards, but it was cross from the Westin,, high rent area.
