We came to this location after not wanting to go in one of the other locations. And I’m so happy we came. The service was great. The food was worth the price, hot and delicious. Service was quick. And we even meet some good people here and had great conversation. The bathrooms were clean and the lighting was bright. I tried a stuff salmon and it just came together so well. High recommend

Ate here three times while visiting Chattanooga. Service is excellent, food is really good, and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality. Excellent cakes and pies, bought slices of several different ones to take home. Highly recommend!

City Cafe's reputation preceded our visit, but our experience was a mixed bag. To start with, the Famous Texas Cheese Fries were a misnomer—they were actually potato wedges. Unfortunately, they arrived lukewarm with just melted cheese on top, leaving much to be desired. The Turkey Club was exactly that, a simple turkey club. It was disappointingly bland with no dressing to enhance the flavor. On a brighter note, the shrimp fajitas were actually good and saved the meal from being a complete disappointment. The sweet tea was another letdown, weak in flavor and neither of us thought it was sweet at all. However, the water was refreshing. We decided to order desserts to go. The carrot cake was okay, but nothing special. The cheesecake, on the other hand, was good, though it was our fourth choice after being informed that the first three were unavailable. If not for the generous portion sizes, which allowed us to take home leftovers for a second meal, I would leave a lower rating. The silver lining of our visit was the ample portions.

I’m so happy to see these guys back in business. The space is open, light and airy. The staff is super friendly. The food portions are huge as is the selection of items. Definitely with a pop in for a full meal or any of their amazing desserts!

After attending a Broadway show downtown tonight, we stopped in for a late dinner. This new location is fantastic. Our order was a chicken salad wrap (side of rice and black beans) and a pastrami reuben with tater tots! Food was Excellent!! And the service was to match!! Dessert case to die for!! Thank you for the perfect Southern hospitality and delicious food!!!

This is the second night in a row that we drove down from Murfreesboro just to dine here. Honestly the first night was just because you were open 24 hours. Well are in love with everything about City Cafe Diner from the friendly staff down to the decor. Chris was our server tonight and he checked all the boxes! Best service we’ve had in a very long time, BRAVO!! We will be back just for those potato cakes! 🤤

Grim and I stopped by City Cafe Diner, and let me tell you—this place is awesome! From the moment we walked in, everything was clean, welcoming, and had that perfect classic diner vibe. The service was top-notch—our waiter was friendly, fast, and made sure everything was just right. Now, onto the food—absolutely delicious! I had mozzarella sticks to start (crispy and gooey, just how they should be), followed by an omelette loaded with jalapeños, cheddar, and bacon, paired with creamy grits and sourdough toast. Every bite was on point. Grim had the dolmades, and they were fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. Even the little details stood out. The bathrooms? Immaculate. And the signs on the doors? Hilarious and spot-on. You can tell they put thought into every part of the experience. If you're in Chattanooga and want amazing food, great service, and a fun atmosphere, City Cafe Diner is the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

To die for, menu was huge. Even as we waited everyone else’s food kept us unable to decide what to order. We landed on the Stir Fry & Cajun Pasta that did not disappoint. The original restaurant we made a 2 hour drive to dine at was closed. We made the best choice everything was incredible! By the end of the night we were pleased. PS Everything was so well thought out from the booths classic bold style to the funny signs on the bathroom doors!
