It's a really formal dining and then they have a very not formal takeout. It's super interesting. The food was great overall but their rice was dry and the steamed vegetables were pretty crappy. The lamb was good so I'd come back here for that again.

I came to NJ for a weekend getaway and doing search for good restaurants around my hotel Valenca was one of the top rated. 4.5 stars are not real, this restaurant need 4.9 at least. The food is fantastic, the place was packed and the staff was very friendly. From the beginning the complementary olives with hot olive oil sauce and bread, fantastic. I ordered the grilled Octupus and the T-bone steak perfectly cooked and the rice and chips as side was the best. It was a really good culinary experience I like to recommend to all when visit Elizabeth / Newark.

When was the last time you had veal stew? Had it yesterday on their daily special menu. Fantastic, plenty of veal, large tender chunks with peas in a light brown sauce. Very impressed and left full. Staff was quick and friendly. Can’t wait to go back. They have a cubed pork and sausage dish I am dying to try.

Valenca is amazing from appetizers thru deserts. They ate beyond friendly and welcoming to everyone who has the pleasure of dining here. The food is made with the finest quality ingredients. The portions are generous. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. Come hungry and ready to be amazed. God Bless America! God Bless Blue & Gold! Remember Everyone Deployed Everyday!

Great food, nice atmosphere good service. I visited for lunch on a Thursday. We were seated immediately. There was a steady flow of customers and the food came out as expected. Our table enjoyed the fried shrimp (jumbo) entree which came with steamed veggies and rice. The seafood paella rice was great. There was a good amount of seafood throughout which included shrimp, scallops and muscles. This dish can be shared among 2 or 3 adults. The salad, which comes automatically was delicious! The mixture of olive oil and herbs made for a great combination over the fresh lettuce.

Everyone enjoyed their meal. Shrimp & garlic sauce appetizer was excellent. The sangria was delicious & potent, my grouper w/small scallops, rice & veggies were delicious too. My brother loved his salmon, & sister in law enjoyed her stuffed shrimp. My husband's special, which was red snapper, was good but too spicy, & there was nothing on the menu that said it was spicy. Coffees & dessert was good too. Restaurant is noisy. Next visit, we're going to eat in the bar area, which was more quiet.

OMG, what a hidden GEM. Loved it and my Wife was truly impressed. The atmosphere was energetic, the service was great, the drinks were good and the food was excellent. We will definitely visit again! Very busy place in the middle of a residential area so parking is scarce. They have a small parking lot but it is a busy place so it fills quick. Please make sure you have a reservation or you will wait to be seated. Prices are affordable with such an extensive menu. Enjoy your date!
